Hate to say it but Jay Bruce is the goat of the first half of the season as far as I'm concerned, and I don't mean greatest of all time. He got a big pay day and he and his wife had a baby and he is NOT focused. If he can turn it around after the AS break remains to be seen. The injuries dragged them down too but what else is new? At least the World Cup is on.
Two wins in a row for the first time in almost two months! And it's with a big 9th inning-two outs-empty bases rally! Woohoo! Here we come, baby! Back to reality, deGrom pitches tomorrow, so the Mets hitters should have roughly two hits and 13 Ks.
Well, Bruce is a streaky player. We saw this the first half season we brought him in and then he lit it up for a while last year until the trade. I don't know if it's a focus thing or what, but yeah, this team needs to start hitting and giving these pitchers some support. Ces can't get back soon enough. It's their only hope of salvaging this season. They need to keep this winning "streak" going.
He's actually leading them at this point. They should take him seriously. Jake is mine. He's having a Cy Young year but won't get it prolly because of the lack of support.
DeGrom is my #1 too but I’ve seen enough of him to not be surprised by his performance. Nimmo is just such a pleasant surprise.
I couldn't believe that. I missed the beginning of the game and turned it on when it was 2-2. Then immediately they hit back to back to back home runs. Vargas has been awful, send him to the minors.
Dodgers 5; Mets 2. Somewhere Fred Wilpon's hiding a smile.. When former Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt started using his team as a divorce-court war chest, Bud Selig all but shoved him out of the league and handed the Dodgers over to Magic Johnson. That the Wilpons are getting a pass when it's obvious they're more concerned with paying off their Bernie Madoff/Ponzi scheme debts is a joke.
