Not the best pick-ups, but there really wasnt much out there. Just happy that they are actually making moves and not sitting around with their thumbs up their asses

    * but yes, I'm glad theyre doing SOMETHING at this point... but this is reactionary due to their prior mistake

Are you kidding? I have been hearing about Dilson fucking Herrera for what seems like 5 years as a can't miss prospect, and now we traded him. I'm not oppose, but he must have fallen off somewhere along the way. I can't believe all these moves, totally caught me by surprise. THANK GOD Bastardo is gone. Why did the Pirates take him back? He is awful. Niese is a solid addition.

Yeah, I couldn't stand Bastardo. I thought he was going to be a decent signing for us in the offseason but now I am glad he is gone.

Also.. This Rugiano guy or however you spell his name is fucking garbage. This guy has done absolutely nothing right since he has gotten here.

Biggest play of the game IMO --> Walker had 3-0 count with bases loaded when the Mets were up 5-3. How the HELL do you take a 91 MPH fastball right down the middle? That needs to be green light all the way. Instead he takes a pitch, goes 3-1 then pops up a middle - high fastball to CF to end the inning.

Herrera was a can't miss prospect, but that's all he's shown he is...a prospect.

HAHA lead off double in bottom 10 and you can't get him in. What a joke.

Oh, oh oh! let's not forget about how Reed threw 2 nasty sliders to Didi and then gave up a 2 run single. Simple baseball.. don't come back with a third slider and let him stay alive. Change the eye level of the batter. Fastball high and tight then if that doesn't work go down and away. It's so simple!!!

It's ironic, but I can't remember a time where I HATED watching this team so much. I can't stand them. They are so predictably impotent at the plate it's laughable. Their approach is not interesting, they canNOT manufacture a run. They can't run the bases. They can't hold runners on defensively. They don't play small ball. They are not a detail oriented team. You just hope for your pitchers to go out there and light it up so we can win 1-0. Even our pitchers aren't stellar because they are exhuasted from last year's run. It's amazing they are not 10 games under .500 the way they are at the plate. I don't think Jay Bruce is going to come in here and change the culture. This is just a bad team.

Betances was 0 for 3 in save opportunities entering the night and tried his damndest to blow this as well.

I don't understand how Betances can throw 95+ but can't throw to first base

ask Jon Lester how he's been a starting pitcher in the majors for 11 seasons and he still struggles throwing to first.

I was watching the Yankees broadcast last night and Kay was scratching his head about that one.

It made no sense to me, first of all Murphy probably should have been resigned to the team. But these cash strapped Mets went with Walker and hoped for Herrera.

Also, imagine if they had traded for Bruce last year too

Do you remember what the offer for Bruce was? If it was Herrera that would have been such a joke. Might have been the difference in the WS

Exactly, thank you. The owners will forever kill this team.

Nice win and terrific outing for DeGrom. Conforto looks like he has found his stride with 3 doubles in the last two games. Hopefully we can take another one tomorrow night

55-52 is not exactly where I thought we’d be at this point in the season. Despite the injuries they should be better than this. Way better than this. Are they even going to win 80 games? Matz has too many of these type of games. Collins has annoyed me all year. I don’t know what effect golf has on the quad but I do agree that the optics aren’t good. This whole season has been such a letdown.

I guess that's why they traded for him.
