Solid set of back to back wins. Familia has been nasty lately. Good sign from where he was just a few weeks ago.

Asdrubal is the definition of a pro. Tons of credit to Sandy for this signing. No one thought he would be this solid. What a difference a year makes at SS for us. He could knock out 20 homers while playing the best defense at that position that we've had since Reyes left.

Gotta handle Atlanta this weekend now. 3 out of 4 atleast and hopefully Washington keeps losing.

All in all it could be worse with how we've been playing.

How much longer would you give Conforto to figure it out before deciding to send him down to work things out there?

Thor: no structural damage. I thought I heard cortisone...maybe not tho

Wheeler: nerve irritation. Cortisone. Resumes throwing when comfortable.

Ces has a mild wrist sprain. Cortisone

As per Cerrone on SNY Mets blog and SNY Sportsnite

Huge bullet dodged with Syndergaard. But everytime I hear these reports it makes me believe we are on borrowed time with his dominance.

No matter how much of a freak of nature a pitcher is, the bottom line is a human arm isn't supposed to do on a regular basis what his does.

IMO there are only 2 other SPs in the league with stuff as nasty as Noah's and that's Kershaw and Sale. How they are/were able to avoid any type of major surgery to this point in their careers is pretty amazing.

Not sure Noah will be that lucky based on all these precursors. I just hope that once Wheeler gets back we get a season or two of what could be the best 1-5 in baseball history and win a WS before it all comes crashing down.

Personally I think he should be up here for good. Nothing he could do in Vegas is gonna help him out in the longrun IMO. Once the lineup is at full strength I think he is going to burst out of this slump. Might take awhile but this kid is a pro. Gotta play through the bumps.

It might be interesting though if Cespedes has to miss a few days (I would keep him out until Monday if he isnt 100 percent) if Nimmo gets a call up. He can play CF or maybe Grandy could go out there for a few games and put Nimmo in right.

Anything other than having to watch a weekend of de Aza.

Sandy is lucky we signed Cespedes because he would have gotten destroyed for De Aza. Just bought tickets to the Cubs game.

Oh Terry calling Jay Horwitz a puppy dog was weird. o_O lol

Collins has a hell of a lot of nerve making fun of Jay Horwitz - he can't hope to ever be one-tenth as good at his job as Horwitz is at his. The only good thing about the way the Mets season is going is that Collins might be gone as a result of it. What a clown.

Edit: Well, he did a complete mea culpa today, pointing out that while Horwitz was doing his job he (Collins) wasn't doing his. Still think he's a crappy manager.

I've met Jay a bunch of times--he's a sweetheart and really is kind of a puppy dog. Honestly, one of the nicest and most innocent folks you would ever hope to meet, especially in the position he holds. He could be a complete prick. Really nice man.

Well if he we dont win the division , or dont make the playoffs in general , these are the games we can look back to as a result.

Nats undefeated against Atlanta, and I think we're now under .500 against them.

Honestly I can't blame Terry as much as everyone else is for puppydog gate. How often do you see a PR guy prodding the manager to say something during a press conference in front of the media? I don't actually blame Terry for going off. And it's not like the media wouldn't have found out anyway once Thor wasn't available in the postgame. People kill TC for being too forward, now they're killing him for maybe wanting to not make too much light of the Thor checkup (and I say maybe cause Eddie Coleman pointed out Terry did say 'we took Noah out earlier than we wanted to' and the media didn't follow up to ask why cause there were more questions on Cespedes).

Agreed. Just goes to prove 90 percent of the people asking questions in these press conferences dont even listen to what the manager says. They go in with their own questions and thats it.

Everyone in the media says that Horowitz is a great guy. Im sure he is. But IMO you dont put Terry in that situation when he's done answering questions. TC is right , if they didnt ask , then he doesnt need to talk about it. Why a manager has to say anything to the media without being asked is beyond me.

Word travels fast these days. If the reporters didnt find out about Noah in that room they would've heard about it a half a second after they left. At that point it already broke to everyone not in there asking questions about Cespedes. Managers have enough to worry about without having to do the reporters job too.

I can see both sides of it. Horowitz was doing his job. Terry was doing his.

People getting offended over him calling Jay a puppy dog need to sack up

    +2 Boys

He's gotta face those hyena's everyday, has done a great job in that area, and now he has Jay Fucking Horowitz telling him how to do it. GTFO.

Besides, Jay Horowitz has been goofed on forever, and puppy dog is prolly an in house joke. At best. Jay Horowitz...smfh
