I posted some stats the other day and Brydak is easily the most competent middle reliever we have. Parnell has a good ERA but has quite a high number of inherited runners scoring. Brudak has inherited a ton more runners then all the others and has given up the fewest. Francisco is atrocious and Rauch should have been sent to Buffalo weeks ago.
How ironic is it, that the guy's name is Bay ? He couldn't hit water if he fell out of a fucking boat.....
Francisco WAS atrocious, he had given up 1 run in his last nine appearances. He should have been pitching the bottom of the eighth, and possibly the ninth.
Fair point, it's just hard to have any faith in any of these guys outside of Byrdak who has been very good. Like I said though Rauch should have been demoted weeks ago, it's pretty scary to think that they have nothing better then him. He might be the worst middle reliever in all of baseball.
Davis with a 3-run HR off the lefthanded J.P. Howell. Certainly don't need much more proof that he has never recovered from shoulder surgery in 2010.
Still 0-0 in the top of the 5th. Dickey has given up 1 hit, struck out 8, and walked 0 through 4 innings. It's hard to believe that that is even possible for a knuckleball pitcher, and he's been doing this kind of thing all season. How is it possible for a knuckleball pitcher to have a 1.024 WHIP, 9.5 K's per 9 IP, and 1.92 BB's per 9 IP more than 1/3 of the way through the season?
Amazin's open up a 3-0 lead in the 5th for Robert Allen Dickey to work with. Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk 2
I watched the first few innings. How was Upton's "hit" ruled a hit? That looked like a clear error to me.
Dickey loses the shutout on an error and two passed balls, but completes the one-hitter with 12 Ks and no walks. He sets the team record with 32 2/3 consecutive shutout innings. His WHIP for the season is now 0.967. Amazing.
