This says it all. AL baseball is a complete joke. I love seeing the yankee fans getting pissed about this, its almost better to have that missed call just to see them get all whiny. Out of all the shit they have seen, they will still get pissed when the Mets get even a small amount of success.
So you're saying that someone who uses steroids at one point in their career forever tarnishes their teams' future sucesses post-steroid use? That means that every single WS championship from Willie Mays to 2025 is illegit because at least one player had used or was currently using steroids, greenies, or any PEDs... The fact you're not acknowledging is that every team had or has a juicer. So, logically, because all teams are cheaters and would all deserve asterisks, that defeats the purpose of an asterisk (by definition, an " * " is used to mark an exception). If you're correct that every team is tarnished, then an asterisk is uncalled for unless asterisks become the norm (which would just be a self-defeating asterisk). Just sayin
Are you seriously ignorant enough to have to say "HGH" when referring to the American League? Are PEDs league-exclusive? If you don't understand the prevalence of PEDs in the MLB then you're not a real baseball fan... I'll just assume you were being sensationalist to point out the fact that the DH position allows players who can't play defense to have a job in the bigs...
Either you were being over-the-top sarcastic or speaking incorrectly. Neither is necessarily a bad thing.
Ridiculous call by the first base umpire saying Davis was off the base on the throw by Wright. First basemen routinely get the call when they're a foot off the bag, and Davis was just barely off the bag if he wasn't actually on it. Doesn't matter as Niese gets his 7th and 8th K (through 4 innings) to end the inning.
84% of people in the ESPN vote said the Mets would make the playoffs. It's likely 80% of the voters were met fans.
Even that doesn't really account for it - how many Mets fans would seriously predict right now that the team is going to make the playoffs? Those aren't just fans - they're homerific fans.
Put it in the books! Mets are in a virtual tie for first place and 8 games above .500 at the end of play on June 3rd. Amazing.
Just when you think this team is headed for certain doom, i.e. losing 2 of 3 to Phillies, they go out and allow 1 run in 3 games and are on the verge of sweeping the defending WS Champions. They have the hearts of champions. Let's hope this ride never ends.
