Parnell has an easy 1-2-3 inning, so of course Rauch is brought in for the 8th inning. Why is it that pitchers HAVE to only pitch in specific innings?
Big failure for the bullpen - Parnell comes in and immediately hangs a curveball and blows Gee's two run lead.
Give me a break - now Rollins hits a 3-run HR off Ramirez to break the game open. Another bigtime failure for the bullpen.
Well that game was a lot of fun to be at. NOT! Sick and tired of this damn bullpen. Mets bullpen ERA is 5.45, which is the worst in the major leagues. Nice revamped bullpen Sandy gave us. The only good thing he's done so far (stressing so far, because it's way to early) is bring in Terry. Who if I'm being honest I'm not 100% in love with. I use to raise an eyebrow about who he brought in from the pen, and during what point in the game, but is there a single truely reliable guy in the pen? Geez! I have to admit I'm not a fan of changing the line up all the time based on left handed pitchers. I like Terry, and this team has played better than what anyone could have hoped, and expected. The bullpen is just driving me crazy in these games.
I propse that at any time a starting pitcher is to be removed, no matter what inning it is, a new starting pitcher should be inserted in his place. Gentleman, the Mets have no bull pen.
Santana has a no-hitter through 6 2/3. He's thrown 102 pitches. I would be surprised if he finished it. And I think we all know that if Santana is taken out that there is no way it stays at zero hits.
