I got a ticket for Game 6 of the NLCS the minute the Cubs clinched their first-round series just in case (since I knew the Mets would have home-field then if they won, and Game 6 would be on a Saturday night).

Guys...should Harvey really risk it pitching game 1? He's got his future to think about

I thought it was funny during the celebration after the final out he was the last guy to make it to the pile. And kinda just smiled from the outside.

Guess he doesnt trust them after Kendry Morales a few years ago?

Prob just looking too much into that but it's a shame he's made fans have to during such an awesome time.

He can def shut me up Saturday though.

Cubs fans feeling cocky right now. They think they will win this easy. The "experts" will probably pick them to win

I hope the Mets go shock the world and keep their losing streak going

They can feel cocky all they want. Im sure they were pretty cocky in 03 against the Marlins as well. But if they are basing that cockiness on their 6 wins against us this year then thats pretty silly. Those all came before the deadline and before Wright got back. We're a completely different team now. No Mayberry or Campbell this time around.

But it should be a great series. Great young pitching against great young hitting. Cant ask for much more than that.

Their rotation after the top 2 is veryyy shaky though. Hendricks and Hammel will most likely start 2 games in this series at Wrigley. Those games will be insane advantages for the Mets on paper. And their pen outside of Strop isnt anything special either.

Both teams have their weaknesses. That will probably keep things close throughout.

Only place I like the Cubs better other than their young hitting is their manager. If it comes down to that we're in trouble.

The thing about their hitting is this.. If Cespedes, Wright, or Duda START hitting, we can be just as potent as them. Weren't we the number 2 offensive team in the MLB since August 1? Our pitching will neutralize their hitting, it is just a matter if our hitting can get the job done. When Rizzo, Baez, Bryant, Castro and Schwarber are up, we need to try and minimize the runners who are on. I'll live with soloshots, but when they start hitting 2 or 3 run dingers, that is when it becomes a problem.
Also, it looks like Harvey and Thor will matchup vs Lestor and Arrieta. We will have tremendous advantage when DeGrom is on the bump and a mild advantage when Matz is there. This series is very winnable - I hope everyone and their mothers are on Chicago. It'll be just that much sweeter when we win in 5.

ugggh...... I guess the celebratory Jobu rum shots werent a good idea.

Outside of our personal bias, I'd pick the Cubs too, but the METS have shown they can battle..... and anything can happen. Plus it's hard to beat a goat's curse!

    LETS GO METS

Also a huge thing to watch when the series shifts to Wrigley is if the wind if blowing in or out. Sounds silly but that park is a bandbox when the wind blows out.

Could make for some very high scoring games.

If it's blowing towards RF.. Duda, Murph, Grandy and Conforto could benefit tremendously.

Just a thought, how about moving Conforto up to the 2 slot? He has great patience when he is up to bat and very rarely swing at a bad pitch. Wright has been ass this entire postseason. He did face Greienke and Kershaw 4 times so I do give him somewhat of a break, but he needs to get his shit together if we want to advance.

Sounds good in theory, but Duda will have to actually make contact first

And if I remember correctly , Murph hits tremendously well at Wrigley. Power wise too.

I would be comfortable with Conforto hitting anywhere. The kid seems to do what needs to be done everytime he's at the plate in a big spot. At the very least since the Cubs only lefty is Lester , he'll see tons of playing time this series, which is great news.

Wright has not looked great since Game 1 but his presence is still needed. I too wish TC would move him in the lineup but Im sure he'll continue to go with whats been working. Even though it hasnt really been working lately lol.

With Lester going in game 1 its gonna be interesting to see what TC does with Duda. He's so off right now but he's a better 1B than Cuddyer. Something tells me Cuddy and Lagares will start tomorrow though.
