Let's kick their asses off the field...literally, tomorrow. Matz has what it takes to shut 'em down then drill someboy good to boot
First order of business: ride tonight's 10-3 lead and go up 2-1. Second order of business: knock the Dodgers out of the playoffs altogether. There are bigger and more important fish to fry right now. Put Utley in the rear view mirror and focus instead on winning, winning, winning. Come 2016? Then decide if you want to go about turning Utley's balls into earrings.
Should have beaned Gonzo. Instead he jacks a homer. Don't want this guy feeling good about his swing after we've neutralized him thus far
Everything that needed to be done tonight the Mets did it. Harvey wasnt great but luckily for him that isnt going to be even half the story now. Really hoping we can finish it off tomorrow..but with the way these umps have proved that they want to keep this series close , I think we'll have to beat them and Kershaw to avoid going back to LA. I have faith in Matz though.
True. Drew Storen against the Cards comes to mind. I'd hope a 9 run lead going into the 9th would be an off night for a closer though.
and one note on the Harvey front. His game has def been affected by the up and down usage. It can be masked in games against Philly and Atlanta but against better teams in the league he's gonna look pedestrian. He battled tonight but that shouldn't be the extent of what he can do for us.
The usage was his choice. First it's no I don't want the six man rotation, then he was saving his arm, then he demanded more innings. Then he's in traffic and misses practice. What does he want?
Without a doubt Harvey is a top of the rotation guy when being used the way he should be used. When the diapers are on he's our number 3. Thats pretty pathetic that him and his agent cant see that.
I think that what he wants is to not have surgery again, he probably wants to pitch for 7 or 8 innings and not worry about the health of his arm. I don't like selfish players either but no one thought the Mets would win the division and ask him to be a go to guy, he probably thought he would be home resting his arm and getting ready for next year. He is not in a good spot right now, should he just give the mets what he can? Or take a chance that he won't injure himself and pitch till he can't? I would like them to wrap it up so everyone can rest and send Utley home.
Ideally yes, but it was only Familia's second appearance in eight days, and thankfully he finished it off in 11 pitches so it shouldn't be an issue tonight.
one more game !!!!!!!!!!!!! LETS GO! Hypothetically speaking, if us and the Cubs win tonight to end it. Do we know when game one of the nlcs would be? Please not Friday
