Grandy...coming thru when you need it most WOW...What a great season. So enjoyable. Watched just about every game, every pitch. The future is bright too Disappointing about having to go to LA. But we can beat them. And I know they'll be ready to after them good Let's Go Mets...Beat LA!!
90 wins is a great milestone to hit. Didnt Sandy predict that? lol NLDS staff set..deGrom game 1 , Noah game 2 and Harvey pitches the first playoff game in Citi Field history. Should be fun.
Sounds like they're gonna try to get Matz ready for Game 4. Sounds good, especially @Citi. deGrom, Thor, and Harvey all looked very good down the stretch There's no doubt we can win this series. I hope Thor rides his last three starts right into LA.....hard
If Matz cant be ready by then , then there's def something more to him just "sleeping wrong" like the team said when his stiffness issue first came out. I've slept on some pretty shitty couches in my day..its never put me out of commission for more than a day or two. Then again I dont need to get my body right to hit 95mph and get out major leaguers so we'll see.
I've questioned that from the beginning. I slept on an air mattress one time and pinched a nerve in my neck so bad I was basically sick and couldn't move. It took extended physical therapy to loosen it up. I saw Matz compare it to that 'neck crick' thing, but in his back, but I wonder. They're giving him some sort of therapy and rehab start so we'll see. Oh well, not ideal but hopefully he's fine. Looking forward to the 25 man roster. Will they drop a pitcher in the short series and get Young or Newinhuis in there for some speed?
If you advance through the first round of the playoffs.. is the playoff roster already set or can you make changes depending on who you play? I also just checked the schedule of these games. Thank the lord, if it does go to 5, it isn't on friday as I have a concert to go to with my GF .. phew
Haha I'm pretty sure they can change the 25 from series to series from the players from their 40 man Roster effective 9/1
Going to games/concert/shows suck when your budget differs from others. Like I'm willing to spend some more for better seats, but you have to consider what other people are willing to spend. What would you guys do? Go to the game with one other person, or watch it with friends & family on a big screen?
I hope Game 1 is a late start for us. I've had Devils opening night tickets for the last few months and just my luck it falls on the night of Game 1. Wonder how realistic a 9 or 10pm start time would be since we'll be on the West coast.
Right now you'd have to say the Mets are an underdog to the LAD based on the past few weeks and a season ending team batting slump. It doesn't look possible for them to be able to beat Kershaw. But if you're an optimist you could say, alright we had our slump when it least counted. And got it out of the way. And now the team is primed for a big effort and the kind of offense we got to know and love after those end of July trade deadline deals. I'll take the high road on this and say we're going to hit these guys and win.
Just heard Fatso announce the likely starters. DeGrom followed by NOAH @ LA and Harvey game 3 at Citifield. Interesting. Not what I expected. _
Really hoping for that split in LA so Harvey can come home and we can get game 3. Our 3 and 4 are much better than their 1 and 2 are vs our 1 and 2.
I figured that would be the order but that's when I was thinking they would have home field advantage. I'm assuming they will pitch Degrom and Noah twice if they have to. I would like to know what the heck is going on with Matz.
Yup. Harvey is only pitching once so pitching him games 1 or 2 means you have to find another starter for 4 or 5. I think they fully intend on throwing DeGrom game 4 and Noah game 5 and waiting for the next series on Matz. _
I'm for this considering Noah dominated LA on the road and his only mistake was a hanging change up to Gonzalez for a solo shot.
every year they schedule games not to conflict (but games do run long) cards game 1 like 6:45 dodgers/mets about 9:45 8:05 start time is only for stand alone games, like the play-in games, world series, all star...
Friends and family on the big screen, I love watching the games at home with endless supply of beer, spirits and food. I remember watching the Giants win the SB with my 80 year old father in law, it was great for us as a family.
