I looked up player contracts and unfortunately, he will probably command between 22-25 million a year for about 6 years with a player option and a no trade clause.

That would be a great deal. Unfortunately Cespedes will be looking for 25/9 or 10, his agent is Jay-Z just like Cano

So there's your 150. Maybe slice that to 125 since he doesn't have Boras for his agent. He's represented by Roc Nation (Jay-Z) who also demands top dollar figures.

Would you accept a 7 year 25 million a year average with a club option?? Performance bonuses added on?? Front load alot of the money, while our pitchers are still cheap........

I wouldnt give Cespedes a Cano-like deal. Thats way too many years.

    6 year deal would be perfect for us..but I have a feeling he'll want a 7th.

    7 years 160 mil

I doubt the Wilpons would sign a big money deal and include a no trade clause.

I agree, but it really shows how bad the mets needed another big bat in the lineup, wright is just not the hitter that Cespedes is.

Hopefully they consider return on investment, there is no way the mets sustain this type of success without, Kelly Johnson, Uribe, and Cespedes.

In my opinion those 3 guys were instrumental in settling down the lineup.

With every Cespedes save, the dollars pile up on and for the Wilpons. Cespedes is putting fans in the ballpark everywhere the Mets play on the road. Hopefully he'll be another Barry Bonds for us minus the needles and the 'tude. I can see Fred and Jeffy opening up the pocketbook next year to try and keep this roster intact. The guys leaving only frees up more money for the guys staying. If Fred and Jeffy want to keep the seats full at Citi Field, they had better invest money in the product on the field and that means signing Cespedes, Johnson and Uribe. Solid contributors all and Johnson/Uribe gives quality bench depth.

Now if we only could ignite Duda, this team would a juggernaut in spite of our leaky middle relief.

If Duda gets hot again, forget about it.

Important to not have a letdown in Atlanta..we've never really played well there.

Lots of guys out of the lineup tonight (did we clinch last night? hmm) also Familia , Clip are unavailable and Robles away from the team cause of a death in his family.

Could be another innings eater for Colon tonight.

There's a choice tonight and it's either watching the Mets or a tune in to watch the Cheaters. Not interested in Brady, I'll take Cespedes. GO METS and GO STEELERS!

Shit, if the Mets and the Jets were playing at the same time, I might pick the Mets.

I'd still take the Jets. But do a lot of channel flipping. As for NEP. You root for them to lose almost as much as you root for us to win.

That's what I'm going to do. Wow it's September and I care more about baseball than I do football. I didn't think this was going to be the case.

Yeah, with the Optimum app, I generally watch all my sports on the iPad and my GF can watch what she wants on the big screen.

Tonite it's all sports. She can go upstairs I guess :D that TV doesn't suck.
