Wow What a turn of events. What a couple days for the team. It couldn't have turned out any better.... It's gonna be a fun two months....maybe more
Well worth waiting for. He was popping hrs but hadn't hit one in over 140 ABs. If he could be good for another 9 (not impossible) he could be a big factor in a stretch drive.
I hadn't seen that HR stroke of his for weeks. But it was very smooth and hopefully he has it back. If so a big plus for the Mets.
It was his first HR since June 12...it felt like he'd been stuck on 10 HR's forever, that thought did flash through my mind when he led off the 12th.
Flores is an instant fan favorite, what a great story. I can't imagine there is a single Mets fan not rooting for this kid.
Yeah--this truly is feel good stuff. If he produces and becomes a long time player for us--this will be a great story to look back upon. _
Interestingly, seperate of what happened with Wilmer, Wheeler actually called Sandy afterwards to express his desire to 'stay with the team and be a part of what's happening'. I always liked the kid and rooted for him. He cried too after he found out about the TJ surgery. Sandy said the call impacted him also. Gotta love the kid's determination. Bodes well for him to succeed. Conforto sent to Vegas.
A lot of people thought last year that the A's never could make up for losing Cespedes bat after he was traded to Boston for Lester. In 101 games with Oakland in 2014 he had 67 rbis. And 33 with Boston. This season with the Tigers in 102 games he has 61 rbis.
Grandy hits a lead off double in the bottom of the 8th. WHY THE F IS MURPHY NOT DROPPING DOWN A BUNT?! That's such horrible managing man. Runs are at a premium. Duda and Cespedis can both hit fly balls
He's hammering the ball and not swinging at pitches in the dirt. And I wanted to send him to the minors 2 weeks ago.
If you asked me for the rest of the season who the most important player on the Mets is it would have to be Jeurys. You saw what happens when he doesn't pitch well.
