Sent Fulmer and Luis Cessa. Not an expert on all our prospects but seems like a great deal, can't complain.

Basically the guys on MLB said the Tigers were going to trade Cespedes for whatever the could get. Tigers got Fullmer and Cessa. Good prospects but totally worth it. Good deal by Sandy. Cespedes makes 10.5 in 2015 and next year is a FA. Not sure if the Mets get a draft pick if he signs somewhere else.

Would've been nice to hang onto him but I was thinking Cespedes would take either Conforto or Nimmo. Id be more bummed if they had to give up one of those guys.

You have to give up something, and we gave up in an area of surplus, AND it wasn't Wheeler. I'll take it.

In other news Im shocked that San Diego didnt do anything. Guess that asking price for Upton never came down. Foolish.

We kept Wheeler for better or worse. One of them had to go to get the right player.

Hopefully we sign this guy. Has a rep, but I never saw him as a bad guy. He plays ball.

Good to see Bobby O on MLBN!

I like this over the Gomez deal. Cespedes's last 7 games he's hit .321. His last 30 games he's hit .264. Gomez hasn't been hitting. And the whole reason for giving up your chips is to get someone to help you right now.

I'm happy. With Cespedes and d'arnaud the lineup looks different in a good way. Detroit plays Baltimore any chance he plays today? Private Jet his ass here. Waiting on a friend so I can head out to the ballpark myself.

This is such a better deal. Come on guys, be positive Mets fans.
Cuddyer comes back, pray for David Wright, Cespedes will play LF or CF...He didnt want to play RF in Boston, but this is CENTER FIELD!

You keep Wheeler and only give up Fulmer and Cessa. You get the man who dominated Citi Field during the HR derby.

He also hopefully is a guy the Mets ownership tries to keep after the season. You get no pick if he leaves.
Really surprised Yankees made no moves...We needed a starter

Any Mets fan not loving this deal is crazy.

Im shocked the Yanks didnt make a move. I was thinking Shields and Kimbrel was a sure thing for them.

For once, I am a little relieved though...I want to see more home grown talent. It is the best way to win a title, the starting pitching is crap. But this means Severino is coming up

Yeah Cashman seemed to not want to trade those 3 top prospect you guys have. Doesnt help this year but will most likely be the right route to go for down the road.

I expect Severino will get the call up too. Still a liitle surprised they didnt atleast get a middle of the road guy like Harang or Garza.

The deal is official. Thank God, I was nervous but Sandy is on SNY right now announcing the deal. PS No cash in this deal. From the lips of SA.

For the first time in five years going for the present instead of the future. No matter what happens: if it works out or doesn't. The Mets have shown the fans they will make the effort to win now. And it really didn't cost all that much: five pitching prospects all of them expendable. And about 10 million. Their payroll is still at the bottom of the league but much more competitive offensively. Sometimes good things happen out of chaos. I don't thank Sandy for two days ago or for that matter the past 3 months of offensive ineptitude, but he almost made up for it today in spades.
