Reyes in uniform wearing no. 7 for the Rockies today vs. the Cubs. The games on MLB. To me a bad PR move by the Rockies trading fan favorite Tulo basically straight up for another expensive shortstop but not as good a player or an institution in the area. They save $50 mil but hard to explain this to their fans. Again not sure if the Coupons would agree but if you could take Jose off their hands at a 50% markdown (20-24 over 2 seasons) we have our lead off man back.

Yeah, I have no idea. Just a thought. But like I said, it sucks. Let's see what this team can do now with a Parnell Clippard and familia

#Mets still working on a deal that apparently would really please fans if it materialized.

lol I actually hope it's NOT Reyes at this point with all the issues surrounding him (defense, contract)...although if you could get him for a song and get Colorado to retain a significant chunk of the salary...

Yeah, what does that mean? Sounds like it could be Reyes. Does Rubin have real into? Maybe a different big name?
Seems to be a prevelant rumor

If we didn't have to give up much, and it didn't restrict the future payroll, Hose B would'nt be a bad thing leading off...it would strengthen the lineup.

Prolly be pretty exciting seeing him back in NY too

Sounds like Sandy isn't done yet anyway, whatever it is

This sports writers are all over the place. I'm starting to think it's Upton, but I actually hope not. I'm still pulling for Cespedes/Gonzalez tbh.

    Lennon said no Parra
    Carig said no Carlos Gonzalez
    Rubin said no Bruce
    Puma said no Gomez
    ALL said no Cespedes

I'd actually take whichever that does involve us having to give up Wheeler.

Game over. We are in a pennant race we can't be having a pitcher performing the way he has.

    Colon is done.

Atleast baseball circles seem to think we'll be able to get another bat soon. That is pretty big news. Upton wouldnt have to go far if he was traded to us tonight.

Starting to sound like it's going to be Carlos Gomez. He appears to be having an off season. Though he could bat leadoff or middle of lineup.

Fuck. 1 game back and Colon shits the bed tonight.

Colon is done. He should be tested for whatever the opposite of PEDs is.

Mets should get rid of Colon. He's been beyond his last 13 starts. Wasn't he like 9-1 at one point? He will be 9-10 after tonight. Who would you guys trade for Gomez? Would you Lagres and Wheeler? That could be the package....I would not do that.

If I could get some kind of insurance on Gomez, I'd do that deal.

Wheeler is expendable, and if teams want him as one of their top 3 in the rotation, then I say pounce on that now.

I don't include Wheeler. Lagares is injured and should be a lot better next season. But his power stats even when healthy are low. His D makes up for some of that.

Matz is several weeks away.... at best.

I feel like I'm the only one who thinks Wheeler will be just as good as the big 4. I wouldn't trade him for someone that only going to be here for a year or two.

    Haha.

Yeah, I think last night Gary said that Matz will begin throwing next week.
