fwiw, the MLB Futures Game is on MLBN @3 today and you can get a peek at Mets top prospects OF's Michael Conforto and Brandon Nimmo. LF might have Conforto's name on it some time next year...

Great win yesterday but the bottom line is they still only got 4 hits. The previous two games (Ws) they still only scored in one or 2 innings. The rest of the game shut out. But a little more life in their bats with 2 Hrs by Duda and Wilmer hitting the ball. The whole concept of a team slump is something that I've never totally understood. Why an entire team can't hit over a period of time. It's almost like the flu. These guys are together every day and on the road and there are group dynamics that we don't know anything about which I assume is a part of it. I know all teams have shrinks and they could probably start with Terry who you know they're driving crazy. They're driving us crazy too. There was a debate Friday night between Keith and Gary. Keith applauded Sandy for not making any kind of a deal to improve the offense. Gary was incredulous (as I was listening to this) saying to Keith that look at all of the below .200 hitters on the roster. Why can't they just improve the bench. And mentioned that Casey McGehee had been cut by the Giants. The guy is hitting a lofty .213 (but by Mets standards at least above .200). Again I consider it a slap in the face as a fan for the org to bring up a guy like Danny Muno who is hitting .083. You expect better than that. It's pretty obvious they don't want to spend any money even for a rental. If Sandy is waiting to do something around the July 31 trade deadline it could be too little too late. They need offense now. But if they can win with shutouts and pitchers hitting home runs what can you say.

It's not just the money. It's about the money on a sideways move, for the sake of making a move, on a name only. McGehee is doing nothing. It's about the youth.
He's gonna let a young guy do nothing, instead of some of old guy journeyman. He'll try to develop his young players before he wastes transactions on a guy like McGehee
I was listening to them. This is what Keith's final reply would've been- 'It's about the youth moving forward, Not bringing in some schlep.'

    T. d'A coming back will improve the depth. So would Wright, that would be a big boost to the team. And there's still a lot of time left before things start to happen with player transactions In MLB

I dislike McGehee but it's about money. Miami signed him because he's a legit MLB bat. There's loads of guys like that floating around. You don't put .170 or below batters on a MLB roster. And in the lineup sometimes 3 or more guys in a row. Gary thought it makes sense. It makes no sense to have a developmental player like Danny Muno. He's supposed to be developing in the minors not here. This is the majors and the Mets are a contender. You have to give this team their best chance to win now not build for the future.

Oh he's legit, okay. He's doing absolutley nothing. If he was any good why on earth would the Giants, who desperately need help to defend their Pennant, not keep him?
No. It's not just the money.

McGehee is 10x better than Campbell, Muno, etc. They're getting 6 mil back on the Wright contract. How's about spending it on players for a change.

He is? I would say Cambell is doing more in the same amount of at bats, easily when you look at all the numbers, easily. Cambell has played good D and he can run well. There's no need to rent that stiff

Campbell is hitting .174. If you're satisfied with this offense then I agree to disagree. There's plenty of fish in the sea better than those guys. I don't think we have a chance in hell to put together a real winning streak needed to compete with the Nats, Cubs, etc. but I admire your positive outlook.

I'm not gonna bother putting the numbers up. But Campbells numbers are better across the board, including OB%.
His speed numbers are superior also

No, I'm responding to the McGehee talk. And not signing McGehee means nothing to me, and says nothing to me about the FO's shortcomings or faults.
Campbell is doing better than him. Hopefully Wright comes back. I'll take Campbell's speed and D, with his handful of at bats against lefties for the time being at 3B, that's all McGehee would be doing anyway.

Lol Casey McGehee is not solving anything, he's not helping anything either. The trade deadline is in just over two weeks, we will still be right in the thick of a division and WC race. There just isn't anyone available right now that can help, maybe in a couple weeks.

Oh well, great game for him.

Maybe we'll rally and he'll get another shot.
