    Gotta love it!!
Murphy with the horrible defensive play to lead to runs in the top of the 9th and then the rally killing double play to end it in the bottom of the inning. If there was still a Kiner's Korner, Murphy deserves it tonight.

Ridiculous to lift capothingybob at 6 , he was low pitch count and pitching well.

We miss the guys on the corners at this stage , I would keep Turner at 2b when Wright and Ike ar eback.

Yea, I thought that was a bad call last nite as well. Just to watch the PH ground out!! Turner is too valuable a bat to take out of this lineup right now. They need to find a home for him and second is the spot. It sounds like we will be w/o Ike and Wright for awhile longer though.

Pelf pitched a nice game tonite...hoping the bullpen can get 4 more outs!

And there are way too many Phillies fans at the game tonite. Wilpon probably is bussing them up as he has ostracized most of the Mets fans. And on cue, Phillies tie the ballgame....

Pelfrey does the unimaginable and pitches well into the 8th inning, so of course the bullpen blows the game. What a joke.

There was no NBA game on Friday so I looked at the Mets game a little bit. I watched a minute here and there and then stuck with it for good when Isringfucker recorded the third out in an inning. As Isringfucker walked off the mound the announcer said he got out of the inning but did allow the tying run. Then I saw Daniel Murphy and F-Rod blow the tie.

Yesterday was worse. I did not bother with the game at all until the 8th inning. I saw Mike Pelfrey throw his final two or three pitches and then come out of the game because his arm was about to fall off. He exited the game with a 2-1 lead. Moments later, some asshole came out of the bullpen and squandered the lead immediately. Then Isringfucker and Thayer made it worse.

This is why I can't watch baseball regularly anymore. I cannot stomach relief pitching.

Some guy named Kevin called the Richard Neer show this morning to complain about Terry Collins. He bitched about the Mets hiring a guy who managed the Diamondbacks more than 10 years ago and was more than 100 games under .500. Multiple times Kevin repeated those mistakes during the call. Neer, who usually is good, did not correct the caller.

    You know Francesser would have.

Waitasecond, waitasecond. Whattaya outta ya mind? Collins neva managed Arizoner and his rekkid wasn't maw den one hundred games unda .500. Ya waited on hold fah fawty minutes tah say all sawts of wrong stuff? I can't take anymaw of dis nonsense. Next calla.

Reyes on bereavement leave for his grandmother.

    Bad lineup tonight:

    Harris
    Turner
    Beltran
    Murphy
    Pagan
    Thole
    Pridie
    Tejada
    Gee

    already down 2-0

    from the radio broadcast:

"I think that's where Dillon Gee can be most dangerous; when he can put the ball wherever he wants it."

Often they say the most obvious things. But they have so much time to talk while there is no action going on that it must be very difficult to not say the obvious.

And someone needs to tell Hernandez that the "2-Hole" can have a very different connotation than batting second.

I just think it's funny when they say things and don't think about what they're saying.

Every pitcher is most dangerous when they can put the ball wherever they want it. That has absolutely nothing to do with Dillon Gee.

What the heck is Collins doing? He keeps wasting K-Rod appearances on games that are out of hand. There was that game at Wrigley where the Mets were getting blown out, and he brought him in in the 8th (counts as finishing the game).

Now there's tonight, a 4 run game, and he brings him in. This is ruining any trade value he had.

I don't get it either. Maybe he's doing it in spite or something. I'm sure he has to know about that contract clause.

best guess would be he's doing it to keep k-rod fresh. last time k-rod pitched was 3 days ago. that game in wrigly where he came in k-rod hadn't pitched in 6 days before he'd come in.

I think that's right. He appeared in 23 of the first 44 games, which was crazy, but tonight was only his 3rd appearance in the last 9. They haven't had a single save opportunity in that time but besides him being ineffective if he never pitches, the team opens itself up to losing a grievance if they appear to bury him in the bullpen.

To be honest, if he pitches effectively I don't see any way they can get away with not pitching him so the clause won't kick in.

They can't afford to "keep him fresh". This is a unique situation.

I would only use him in save situations. If one doesn't happen in a week, then so be it.

Interesting article on espn nyref trading Wright and not Reyes.... would make sense in the fact we would have more bargaining power .

By the way our bullpen still sucks
