How long will Verlander last tomorrow?

He will probably throw a perfect game.

I was thinking the same thing...it would be the mets luck for something like that to happen.

Simply outstanding hitting , using their "strengths" to hit into the corners or long line drives.

I know i keep saying it but this team is currently showing so much spirit it is a pleasure to watch whatever happens from here on in

Verlander has been dominating for about a month.

This is like the unmovable object (Verlander) meeting the unstoppable force (the Mets bats). I hate that I have to work and will miss it.

Pop fly double for Reyes to start the game, so at least that's out of the way!

Interesting stat about Reyes in the paper today. Yesterday was his 1000th career game, and he has 98 triples and 360 stolen bases in that time. The only other player in major league history with that many triples and stolen bases in their first 1000 games is Ty Cobb (106 and 391, respectively).

Pelfrey walks 3 in the first inning but gets out of it. Considering the opposing starter and the way he looks, this could get out of hand quickly.

Edit: Murphy leads off the 2nd with a dinger. Very strange.

It isn't bad enough that Pelfrey stinks (90 pitches through 3 innings), he even backs up the wrong base and a fourth run scores as a result. Have to think this one is over.

They are a first place team with their ace on the pitching. So I agree. Now the Mets have the next first place ALteam to play. This one at home.

When does Santana come back. if this team wants to be serious playoff contenders we need Johan back and Pelfrey to go...

Basically, you're probly looking at next season, or very late in this one if somehow the MEts are still in the race.

reyes left the game last night after feeling tightness in his hamstring and had an MRI this morning. just read a report stating that he'll be out through mid-week as its a minor injury and the mets would obviously like to keep it minor, nothing concrete yet though.

on another note regarding reyes he overtook tulo in the AS voting and has been named the NL starter at SS, and deservedly so
