That is my thinking too. Pelfrey can really go out and make a statement today. If he can somehow win this game and continue to pitch as well as he has it's going to make a statement around the league and most importantly in the clubhouse that this team could be for real.

As far as the horrible season, last year I lost so much interest around mid July. Not to say I still didn't watch because I was at those two debacles in San Diego (who also is playing unreal right now) but I've got a friend who is a Reds fan and they haven't played a meaningful game past the AS break since about 2000. Poor bastard.....

Met fans are having a hard time learning to like tier team again.Which is understandable. Bottom line is they have as much talent as any team in the NL East. Its gonna be a fun summer.

And Pelfrey finally gives up a run thanks to tough pop flies to Reyes and Cora that get dropped.

Nice to hear McCarver praising Utley for his utterly moronic decision to run on that pop fly, when it would have been an easy double play if he hadn't dropped it. No doubt if he had been doubled off McCarver would be talking about what a terrible decision it was.

Pelfrey gives up a 2 run double...This is the first time we've been down in a game in a while. Can't like our chances against Roy, either.

First really bad pitch by Pelfrey since the first week of April. Oh well - with Hallady pitching it's not looking too good.

Another base hit but Pagan gets Castro at the plate...And another hit. If Pelfrey can get another our we'd be lucky to get out of here only down by 3.

3-run homer. And the wheels are officially off for Pelfrey...Hopefully this is the aberration, not the previous starts.

Those 2 balls could have been caught, should have gotten out of it without a run, but that's why they play the games. I called this one, Pelfrey was due to give up some with a sub 1 ERA.
