Just make sure you go when Pelf pitches and you'll be alright.

    Maybe not a good idea,

The last 4 times I've seen the Mets these were our pitchers....

Bannister, Solis, Pedro (gets hurt) , El Duque .... they've had a high success rate after I saw them.

Oh wait I take that back, I saw Krod give up the walkoff grand slam last year in SD. Shit I'm all off, I saw Pelfrey pitch in Anaheim two years ago in Willie's last game and then Santana got shelled the following night... Pel did get the W.

Holy crap it's been a long time since I saw Bannister pitch, he got hurt that game. Pulled his hammy after hitting a double. I think that was 06 or 07. The Solis and Pedro games were back to back in AZ. Then it was Pel in Anaheim, Santana, El Duque who got bombed in SD last year but I forget who started the Krod disaster the next night.

As far as SD, I was offered a ticket for Sunday night - so glad I didn't go to that laugher!
Will go to 2 of 4 vs Dodgers no matter where they stand...will make the trip to SF for 1 if they're still in the unt.

Santana and Richard both pitched very good tonight, but in the end, the better bullpen (and A-Gon) got the job done.

K-Rod's the scapegoat for this one. If Jerry gets fired, it's going to be him who really looks terrible after the game, and while he usually does every day, to the casual friend it's K-Rod tonight.

I think this game just represents the totality of why he should be fired, the fact that we can't win a series on the road, even when our starters throw 8 scoreless innings.

I'd go to the Dodger games but I hate Dodger Stadium, I mean it's a classic place but getting in and out of there is a disaster. I was there for the WBC Championship last year and unlike Dodger games all 55K people stayed until the final out was recorded and the Japanese all stayed longer then that.

That's exactly it - sure, this was Rodriguez's fault, but the totality of a team that has not won two games in a row on the road in more than 4 months of play just can't be ignored any more.

Unfortunately, since we haven't heard anything, it's apparently not going to happen, and this rudderless ship will just keep on drifting.

Daniel Murphy out for the season

Not related to this series, but I didn't think it was worth its own thread, either. Murphy is out for the season, and the injury only happened because he was playing second base. Apparently there is some controvery over whether the play was a dirty one. In any event, there is now no question that Ike is going to stay at first base, so I expect that he'll have an OPS of about .600 from here on out.

That's a shame for Murphy! I actually think second would have been a better long term solution for him in the bigs because Ike was always going to replace him at first eventually. Now the mets may look at new options at second as well.

Good news going into tonights series!!

Gary Matthews has been DFA'ed!!! The Mets will call up Omir Santos b/c Blanco has been "banged up"

Luis Castillo was also put on the DL and the Mets called up Ruben Tejada.

Beltran played in an extending spring training game today and went 2/6. He did not run the bases.
