That half inning is exactly why a) Pelfrey is a great pitcher, b) had matured big time this season, and c) knows the situation. Kept the ball down, got two grounders, then has the 3rd guy looking down and blows him away with a high riser. Great half inning there!

Unbelievable - Rodriguez doing his best to blow Pelfrey's brilliant start. That's what happens when you can't put hitters away.

    C'mon! Choke K-Rod.

I don't like our chances with Denorfia on deck.

    ^ I prove my point.

    Great effort by Pelfrey tonight.

Whew....it's always interesting with this team and this closer. This would have been a bad, bad loss. So praise Revis for that.

What sucks is if I had cable I'd be able to watch this series but because I have Direct TV and they don't carry the local San Diego channel I can't watch.

BTW I hear Beltran told Carton that he was going to start playing in extended ST next week and could be back before the All Star Game. That could really give this team a boost. I'd have to think that hopefully that would be the end of Mr Matthews.

Absolutely great start for Big Pelf once again. He really seems to have finally gotten it.

Nice to see the two Ks of the last 2 batters, but when you let Eckstein hang around a 9 pitch at bat and then give up a double to him, you're just not an elite closer.

It would be great for Beltran to come back, but I absolutely positively completely totally refuse to even give it a single thought until it actually happens.

Clayton Richard pitching well through three innings. This was expected, because he's been great at PETCO. I'm hoping he keeps it up, because Santana's control is a little off tonight. Hopefully that gets him into a some trouble.

That'll be it for Johan. I would really like some insurance runs here.

    What was that again?

Met's could definitely could still lose but I had a feeling Santana would have a great day the way he's been pitching lately, in THAT ballpark as well.

And once again Feliciano faces one batter and is pulled. Manuel is doing everything he can to destroy his career.

God, I hate that piece of crap.

Heath Bell should just STFU. Okay, you didn't think the Mets gave you a fair chance. You're very successful now, so just get over it already.

It's set up perfectly for GMJ to blow it.

What a shocker - Rodriguez immediately gives up a hit, then allows Gwynn to get a huge jump and steal second. What a joke.
