So we trade for Estrada, then decide to take a downgrade AND trade Milledge...

I would have been fine with Estrada...

If theres no market for Milledge, KEEP HIM.

Acta is great, but this raping of the Mets notwithstanding, Bowden is still an awful GM. This deal is unfathomable in the way the Kazmir deal was unfathomable. I mean, I don't understand how this trade gets made. How does someone not put a stop to it when Omar declares "I'm gonna trade Milledge for Schneider and Church"?

Estrada the Mets are going to cut, so they go out and trade their best prospect for an even worse catcher. And oh, let's not forget Ryan Church, who's going to put up worse numbers at 30 this year then Milledge at 23.

I thought giving LoDuca a multi year contract was the worst thing that could come out of this catcher situation, boy was I wrong. Now they've got a catcher as bad as LoDuca and lost Milledge.

Church isn't a bad player. Schneider is the one who sucks...

    this deal makes no sense.

What was wrong with Estrada!??!?! hes a better hitter than both LoDuca AND Schneider!!!

Church is Shawn Green a few years ago. Fuck him. He's a platoon player. The more I read about this bullshit the more I want to go punch a wall.

Oh, and he's also some kind of religious whackjob.

So just to review - saying all the Jews are damned = trade for the guy. Rapping = get him the hell out of town.

Why the hell didn't we trust Castro he is better than the trash that we brought so far at catcher.

Milledge at worst is 7 years younger and has more power and speed than Church, and that is if his potential winds up being nothing

Omar wanted to make it clear that nobody was willing to trade a pitcher for Milledge, therefore he looked elsewhere.

This is, simply put, a horrendous trade. What makes it even more horrendous is the reality that they held Milledge out of even better past deals.

I assume this means Gomez and Church will be in some kind of platoon, or they assume that a mediocre major league veteran is suddenly going to come into his own at 30 and provide them with outstanding offensive and defensive output.

If Minaya doesn't have some kind of ace up his sleeve, he should be fired tomorrow. I highly doubt that Ryan Church is going to serve as any kind of ace to anyone.

I seriously almost threw my fucking computer across the room, I am so fucking pissed. The worst part is this likely means we won't be getting Santana, Blanton or any other pitcher. Seriously fuck this franchise!!! WTF are these guys doing and how can anybody in that organization think this a good trade? Do they have shit for brains? I hope Omar and Willie enjoy their last year in NY. Fuck those 2 pieces of shit!!!

Although I have been less on the Milledge bandwagon than others around here have been, this still seems to be a completely ridiculous trade to me. The only plausible explanation is that Omar discovered that absolutely no one was interested in Milledge. I actually don't find that all that hard to believe, but if it's the case, the solution is to keep him, not make stupid trade that involves him.

Church should find being in the U.S. city with the largest number of heathens quite interesting.

Serious question, Am I jumping on the bandwagon if I become an Angels fan? I live close enough and it's been a while since they've won the series. I wanna burn all the Mets shit I have. I just got a Mr Met mobile for my son's crib I wanna toss in the fireplace. ..... I guess winning matters more to the fans of the Mets than it does to the Mets front office. This trade is absolute horseshit and they are doing it so they don't need to spend money on Estrada. You play in fucking NY not KC..... I am so pissed off I can't even get ready for work......

What a fucking horrible trade... I think Milledge has a lot of talent and has only been undervalued because of his behavior but I thought he improve in 2007...

    Why, Omar? Why?

We could have gotten the same type of players from the FA market but now we lost Milledge...

I want Omar and Willie OUT!

If no one wanted him then keep him in the OF!

I feel validated that this whole off-season I've been saying Mets prospects aren't on the same level as alot of the teams in major league baseball specifically the yankees. It's obvious the market for Milledge completely died, because if there still was a market and this was the trade Omar decided to make not only is he an idiot, he's possibly a borderline retard.
