tom glavine is basically the biggest joke in baseball. you're a vetran, you want to come out and pitch a fucking good game? give me el duque any day of the week no way he losses this game if he was actually able to pitch fucking terrible unbelivable out of words
Uh huh. Whatever. Glavine deserves a little more credit than this; he has been terrific, and now that he's having a terrible outing shouldn't make him an "asshole" amoung other things. Also, the game's not over...The Nats pitching doesn't really scare me.
You are wildly mistaken because tonight's games are still in progress and the Phillies are currently two games behind the Mets. They will be unable to win the division tonight. In fact, they cannot even tie the Mets in the standings tonight.
lol. hes been terrific alright, but the last 2 games when we needed him most to come out with a great effort, he has failed. if any of you understand momentem, youll know that rollins hitting a leadoff homerun after allowing 3 runs in the first gives them a huge jump.. braves better score some more reyes deep if its gone we have momentem too yep
Three responses in two minutes to that Rollins post. Ha. So Glavine eventually gets out of it, and Reyes homers! By Pennington 2 Cotchery's logic, the Mets just won the division!
only need about 10 more and we should be ok. if anyone thinks glavine isn't going to give up multiple more runs you're fooling yourself. there really haven't been many starts where he's just been bad this year, its been monumentally pathetic.
Momentum in baseball? What is that? http://forums.theganggreen.com/showpost.php?p=614510&postcount=16
Perhaps :shit: Anyway, has anyone noticed that lately our speed guys who hit those little choppers, or bunt attempts, get thrown out EVERYTIME (when an error isnt made) and they dont beat it out like they seemed too all season?
mets are fine, no worries. 3rd and I just make posts bashing players just to piss everyone off better?
One more run, I'll say. Starting pitchers do give up more runs in the 1st inning than any other inning. Elias did the research. (It actually is common sense, I suppose. All starting pitchers pitch in the 1st inning, but occasionally they don't make it beyond 1 inning.) Glavine has had plenty of outings during his Mets days where he sucks in the 1st inning and then settles down.
Well that was a quick inning but I really doubt he makes it past 5, if he gets that far. He's still got almost 50 pitches after 2. And he'd actually only given up 11 first inning runs in 32 starts before tonight.
You're right, I mispoke. Point is, 4 innings from the bullpen just sounds terrible. Of course, we're still down 3 runs, so it might not even matter...
Well, much like a blind squirrel occasionally finding a nut, maybe the bullpen will not suck like the 1996 Jets tonight.
