the marlins lineup is really good, it's their pitching that stinks.

It will be a major accomplishment if the Mets still have the lead after the 6th inning.

I know Cabrera just hit a HR, but I swear, I typed this before he swung and was just about to click "Reply".

what is this like the 3rd time in the last few games that a mets SP has been left in there to give up like 6 or 7 hits in a row and surrender the lead?

    Horrible play by Beltran.

I just got off the phone with my father, and he was complaining about Glavine being left in to face Cabrera. Sorry, but as I said to him I just don't see it. I don't think that there is any manager who would have pulled Glavine with a 3-1 lead in the 5th inning, despite him having given up 4 hits in a row (one of which was lucky, and one of which was not hit hard at all). I think the blame goes on Glavine - they needed him to come up big and he didn't.

Having said that, it's obvious that he shouldn't come out for the 6th inning.

I hate Glavine as much as anyone but I think you're looking at this the wrong way. Glavine is a terrible pitcher with terrible stuff and yet he managed to be solid for the Mets for a good portion of the year. I'm still not quite sure how.

I would've pulled him after Hermida singled. He just wasn't pitching very well, and was giving up hit after hit.

unless it's your ace in the 1st or 2nd inning, four straight hits is almost always grounds for dismissal.

Glavine can't pitch to a guy like Cabrera when there are men on base and he's got to go after him.

He's been better than solid. Go look up the last time he lost a game. Granted, he hasn't been good at all tonight (11 hits??), but he's probably been our most reliable pitcher. On top of that, he's playoff proven. I don't hate him at all.
