that's a little harsh. he made a fantastic play on the ball and the throw tailed just a little bit at the end. the human statue at 1b once again couldn't move his glove a few inches to make a play.

This is not an incredible ballgame, this is complete garbage managing. There should be no situation whatsoever where Sosa is in there closing, NONE. Billy isn't available? Then you MANAGE your way with Heilman as the closer. Unless you found out that Billy is unavailable in the 8th inning which is highly doubtful. Willie just was unprepared for this team to come back and close it out in the 9th. Fucking unacceptable.

Am I far off with this? Even not knowing Billy's status here watching on tv, is there anyway that Willie found out his status in the 7th or 8th inning?

 

with whats left in the bullpen you can almost argue you have to have the infield in there

 

that's the other option.
