Heilman and Sanchez are awful. I don't watch a lot of the games, but I swear every single time I watch these guys they suck. Sanchez didn't give anything up today but he tried. I can't stand the stupid look on Heilmans face every time he blows a game either.
the 10 game winning streak was nice but now we're back in reality. the team sucks. the best we can hope for is that manuel and omar are shown the door at the end of the season. although i really have my doubts about omar, either he's completely secure in his job and he knew this team had no chance at the postseason anyway so why bother making a move or he really thought this team was good enough to compete as is. i'm almost hoping it's the latter because then at least we might not have to put up with another year of his nonsense.
If that's how it happened glad I skipped watching the 10th for some pasta and seafood. I'm still sick how Omar could have rested on his laurels once he stole Santana away form the Twins. Basically Santana for Gomez. The only BP guy he looked at was that clown from Washington who is even worse than the Keystone Cops we have losing games now. Maybe the time has come to trade F Mart for a few reliable guys to stick in the pen. If the Yanks can get Marte and Nady for garbage I'm sure there is some sucker like the Royals who could give us Soria and DeJesus for some mid level prospects. Hopefully this is the swan song for Omar and his ignorance and stuborness. The Wilpons can not sit back and let this moron bring this joke of a team into their new gem.
You just don't get it, do you? I see you have major, major troubles interpreting my writing. Just massive issues.
Martinez is supposed to become a very good major leaguer. Maybe he won't be great, but it sounds like he's the type of guy who will appear in at least a few All Star games. It is not prudent to trade such a high level prospect for middle relievers. Mid level prospects are the guys you want to trade if you are bringing in middle relievers. See what the Yankees did with the Nady/Marte deal.
I didn't see end to this game because I stepped out to go to a store. Nor did I opt to listen to the conclusion on the radio. I played a CD instead. I briefly put on WFAN while changing CDs and heard the result. My thoughts immediately went to relief pitching and how disgusting it is. As far as on-field activities are concerned, relief pitching is the most annoying thing in sports today. Baseball was much better in the 1980s. Things started to get out of whack circa 1994. Expansion caused a lot of the problems.
I looked in the rules but couldn't find a specific answer to that. Of course the rules read like an IRS manuel but do you know exactly where it says this.
I guess there are several ways to interpret it. At the very least he could've argued interference because the way he slid into home and rolled on top of Castro he definitely prevented him from making a play on Pence(even though he didn't have the ball) Also after seeing the replay and what a bad read and jump he got off third base it becomes apparent just how terrible a throw it was from Tatis in left. It was accurate but had nothing on it. Pretty amazing that they weren't able to pick up an out somewhere on that play.
I'm sure the poster davecrazy watched Friday night's program. The best was Alan Kalter's Celebrity Interview. He called Letterdude a "hayseed fuckbag." Later, Kalter turned to Simmons and said, "...I'll roll that tank top around your neck and squeeze it till glitter comes out your ass."
Notice something with that stat, Izzy was yanked from his closer job only to be put in because the rest of their bullpen is awful and Okajima is relegated to being just a lefty specialist. Wagner isn't a competent closer.
You obviously have never watched a Red Sox game, he is still their primary setup man, he has never been a lefty specialist.
Looking at the game logs he doesn't look like the 8th inning guy to me, looks like they are doing it by committee, sure he is a part of that committee but his role has definitely been reduced which is my point anyway.
well, that's the game. it's no longer a question of whether or not the mets will fuck up with RISP, but how.
