Nice thoughtful remarks by Wright, but how disappointing that he includes Bonds as among the "elite players he'd like to be like".

And Reyes botching the DP ends up costing two runs (so far).

After Reyes can't turn the two, Smith actually allows runs.

Sort of. They count as inherited.

Byrnes whiffs, and I'm glad (I find him very annoying, including when he announced the lineup yesterday and sounded ridiculous).

Feliciano puts 'em down easily in the 8th.

Even Heilman looks good as the Mets beat the D'Backs once again.

Well, the Mets won a Sosa vs Webb matchup tonight, so maybe tomorrow they can actually win a Pelfrey game. Anything is possible in Arizona.

Seriously, just make Citifield an exact replica of Chase Field in Arizona. The Mets would go 162-0.

and delgado is even worse. how long is willie going to let this piece of trash sit in the middle of the lineup leaving runs out on the basepaths.

Really have to wonder how much longer the Mets can go on winning with Wright and Delgado being black holes right in the middle of the lineup.

Isn't it a little odd to let Castro, Newhan, and Gotay bat in the top of the 9th down two runs when you have Beltran, Alou, and Lo Duca on the bench?

apparently alou isn't available but i think i would've definitely hit loduca for either newhan or gotay.

Doesn't matter - Beltran pops out to end it.

And the Mets B Team loses the game.

Can we officially blame Wright for that one? I think so.

I just looked at Pelfrey's line and the kid really needs to be sent down to the minors if for no other reason as to not mess his head up. It certainly doesn't appear he's ready for the big leagues no matter what he did during spring training.

The Mets FO/Mgr really needs to rethink the Pelfrey experiment and perhaps once El Duque returns, ship the kid back to 'Nawlins. Give Sosa the shot.

I think Sosa has the shot at this point. It's more about whether to start Chan Ho Park or Pelfrey while El Duque is out.
