That would be a reason, but since Willie always talks about how little attention he pays to stats, I'm not sure it would have been the actual reason. Obviously there is absolutely nothing to complain about at this point regarding the Mets. The two points that have been raised (playing Milledge and flip-flopping Delgado and Alou against lefties) are longer-term points that will (I believe) eventually be an issue. Unless, of course, the Mets average 8-1 wins for the entire season! :up:
I'm with you, when the Tigers were close a few years ago I was rootin so hard for them to win games.....
It's a consequence of winning, and while slightly unbearable, I'll take it if it means we keep pounding the shit out of teams like the Cards and Braves.
