piss poor two games by the Mets. sure, it isn't over, but I can only watch them strand so many runners before I can't wait for the fucking game to end and just move on with my life. just shameful. it is one thing to lose to a team they are better than, it is another to lose to a team they are better than and outplay.
That was a rough one.... Pulling El Duque was a mistake, but hindsight is 20/20.... Let's hope we get back on track at home against Philly
I don't know, chances are that Heilman would've been starting the 8th inning with a 2-1 lead even if Duque pitches the 7th. Maybe he pitches a 1-2-3 7th and Heilman faces different batters but I don't think it was that big of a deal. With Reyes drawing all of these walks to start off the season I thought maybe he really was going to be more patient but in that big spot with 2 on and 2 out he goes fishing for a terrible 2-0 pitch and pops it up. As MSU mentioned having Valentin batting 2nd really hurts as you knew Reyes wasn't going to get anything to hit.
Well that's why I said hindsight is 20/20. If I had been in Willie's shoes, I probably would have made the same move, but, since it didn't work out, with Reyes' lousy at-bat and Heilman's mediocre inning, it turned out to be a bad move.
