lol Alou downright joke to professional althetics. pedro will be the same thing if he gets hurt again.. DFA alou
Impressive performance by Pelfrey, but the decision to have him lead off the bottom of the 8th was ridiculous, and now the tying run is at the plate.
And that is why you never give away outs in the bottom of the 8th and never give away baserunners in the top of the 9th, especially when you're playing poorly. Is this Wagner's fault? Of course. But it's also Randolph's for being an asshole.
Ouch seems like the umps blew another call, as Wagner clearly got Reynolds on the foot. Instant replay couldent come at a better time for you guys.
You know, I don't feel bad at all about getting pissed at Wagner. When the Mets were really cold last time, he called out his teammates for not carrying their weight, etc. And now, assuming they lose this, he's blown two games out of their pending six losses in a row. Fuck him.
Willie Randolph once again shows he is the worst manager in baseball. He gives away three outs in the bottom on the 8th. He lets his pitcher lead off in the bottom on the 8th with only a three run lead and the pitcher almost at 110 pitches. Then he pulls him and brings in Wagner who is the worst closer if he inherits any baserunners. What a complete f$cking idiot.
That is inconsequential, this loss is 100% on Wagner, the "closer" should be able to not allow 3 runs even if he has one runner on base when he gets in.
After being so genuinely happy for Pelfrey, this hurts. Before this game I had no faith in this team, and somehow, I have even less now. (If they come back to win, I reserve the right to retract the preceding statement)
I'm going to try and talk myself into the game: We have almost our entire bullpen available, and they burned 4 innings of theirs (including the 9th). So we have a good shot, although with these guys, you never know.
This is one of the big reasons why I don't like baseball as much as I once did. I don't like managers making moves based on pitch counts and I don't like pansyism. Randolph should have let Pelfrey try to get the complete game.
