just like last year phillies win the tight game again what a fucking horrible 1-2 pitch start tomorrows game with a fastball in the chops of werth. show some fight.
So he has to win every single time where his offense can't give him more than 2 runs?? Against a rookie our offense stunk yet again. It shouldn't of had been this close to begin with.
i really don't understand how omar still has his job with the lineup the mets trot out there almost every day.
We're all frustrated, but you're just being silly. He continues to pitch well, and the team continues to score no runs for him. He has a lot more to answer for in that at bat with the bases loaded than with the way he pitched.
Jerry Manuel=Willie Randolph....how can you take Santana out there? Also, how in the hell can you pitch to Victorino there? There is was no reason to pitch to him at all, with a bad right handed hitter on deck and lefties on the bench that aren't as good as him.
Once in a while is fine but this has been over a damn month of no run support for our ace. Sometimes the team has to help the ace sometimes. Holding this Phillie offense down for 8 innings of just 2 run ball against a damn rookie should have been enough for a win.
This is touchy feely nonsense. The Seattle game was a disgrace but other then that he's pitched very well over this "losing streak".
All I'm saying is I'm not letting Johan off the hook just because we only scored 2 runs. We had the lead and he couldn't hold it. Some blame goes to him.
I'm not putting full blame on him. I'm just not letting him off the hook. Sometime in the 6 games in a row where the team isn't scoring, is it really outlandish for me to ask that our ACE PITCHER, our 20 million dollar pitcher pick up his team and win the game on his own? Is it really outlandish for me to ask Santana to keep the team hot after a solid road trip and not give up 4 in the first to the Mariners? I know one win was vulchered (Dbacks game) And I still think he should have been left in the game, but that goes without saying. Terrible managing.
I agree that the Mariner game was terrible, but no matter who the pitcher is from Koufax to Gibson to Pedro in his prime, no pitcher can win if their offense doesn't help at all.
