no double steal. Just Reyes. Oh well. Runners weren't being held on.

Okay, now it's up to Delgado - he's got to come through again against a lefty.

bases loaded for delgado after the ball hits Beltran's right foot (the back foot, which is unusual)

    damn that slow stream.

Delgado should do some more running.

Hey Carlos, I have a spot open on the QC track for ya.

Interesting that they turned Beltran around, considering he's been a better hitter as a righty.

no double switch for the Mets. Just Stokes. He's in line to come up 4th in the 7th. Maybe he'll be pinch hit for.

It can't be the game if the Mets never relinquish the lead.

    Gee whiz.

God, are we going to keep hearing this crap about how "because we did it last year we'll do it again this year" for the rest of the season? When the Rockies don't come back and win the division this year will Gary point out how "believing you can do it" didn't mean squat? If the Mets don't win the division it will be because their bullpen stinks and they only have 3 starters, not because of some ridiculous bogeyman looking over their shoulders.

Rollins and Easley 8/8 with 2 homers, a double, and a triple.

    Beltran fails.

I count 4 starters. Perez, Martinez, the other guy, and Pelfrey.

Burrell is now 1/26 in his career against Pedro. Met-killer can't trump his failure against Pedro, I guess.

He's actually only 11/48 with a homer and 2 RBI this year. Interesting.

Santana, Perez, and Pelfrey. Three good starters. Hopefully Maine comes back strong after a few weeks off and then we'll have four.

Burrell strikes out with runners at the corners. Nice.

Martinez is still pretty good. It is not easy to pitch against the Phillies. There is a good chance Martinez will have some good games in September.

    Donde es El Duque?

If he can't get in a game before September, he wouldn't be eligible for the postseason, right?

If so, then his only contribution would be to eat up some innings in late September if the Mets were to clinch a playoff spot early.

I can't believe how he was brought on board to pitch in the postseason and it'll probably never happen.

I think I heard something on WFAN the other night about how he got more surgery and his season, and probably career, is over.
