Mets bullpen: 10 batters, 6 baserunners, 3 runs and counting. Just when you think they can't possibly get any worse, they surprise you.
Probably not, but I am very sure that this is the worst bullpen in ML history for a team that was in first place in September.
Are Ron and Gary kidding? If the Brewers lose tonight's game that will be their season? Have they not been watching the Mets the last two Septembers? Absolutely nothing any other team does ends their season until it is mathematically ended with this Mets team.
That is probably obvious the first place comment I mean, but I've never seen a bullpen this bad. At least last year they waited a little later in the season before forgetting to get an out.
The ballpark holds the 400+ foot out. It's really easy to lose sight of just how good Beltran is out there in going and getting the ball.
Most bad teams have awful bullpens, since if anyone in the bullpen was any good they would make them a starter. It's quite amazing to see a team with some good starters that can't put a reliever out ever without it being an adventure, and it's magnified by the fact that the hitters are good enough that they often have the lead late in the game.
I guess this bullpen never heard of a broken clock is right twice a day, damn they manage to suck every chance they get.
I was watching the Nationals TV station and they showed a fan sitting in the stands with handwritten on his back "DON'T BLOW THIS!"
