OK, I see what you're saying; I wonder where that wisdom comes from. As for Hernandez vs. Ambres, I would pick Ambres, but I don't know, I think the Minaya/Willie move is Hernandez all the way. I don't think the decision will make us or break us however, and Omar might be working the phones for a "back up in exchange for a player to be named later" type deal.
Anybody know whats going on with Carlos Gomez? Its been over six weeks since he had his hamate bone removed. Edit. Ok, I found out the Mets moved him to the 60 day DL.
Credit FITM for planting the idea in my head, but Craig Monroe was put through waivers by Detroit. On an unrelated note, Micah Owings is my new hero.
Craig Monroe kinda sucks. Another name out there that really feels like a Mets move is Jeff Conine. Glaus has also cleared waviers, and i wish he made more sense on the Mets. He'd really be an impact bat against LHP but they have nowhere to play him and he can't be a bench guy with his contract.
Green batting 5th? I can understand giving Alou a little rest, but Milledge is infinitely hotter than Green, and Milledge hasn't even been all that great the past few games.
Beltran delivers the runner from third with one out. Hooray! BTW, did anyone else see the ultimate explanation for the Mets problems this year? It's the lack of show tunes. The Mets are 37-26 on the road, which is the best record in baseball. They are 12-4 at home when the national anthem is sung by someone with connections to the Broadway theater. They are 20-23 at home when the national anthem is sung by someone not connected to Broadway. Clearly domination is assured as long as the Broadway connection is fostered!
i love how mad keith gets when umpires call a strike on a guy when he doesn't go around. also how did el duque hurt himself with the 2 out walk, gary? if he gave up a hit to jiminez the run would've scored too.
willie with a chance to go for the sweep with his ace on the mound and keep a nice lead or gain going back home.. and he puts out the B squad. i dont fucking understand it. theres a day off tomorrow, which is ALL THE MORE REASON TO PLAY EVERYONE, not reason to sit them so they can get 48 hours..
taking Alou out hurts this lineup, espically with delgado still sitting out.. this is an important game against a bad team and all the stops should be pulled out to get the sweep
duque up 2nd this inning at about 90 pitches. i wonder if they'll take him out given his extreme PC last start.
didn't seem like it to me. that ball was smoked and church got it as soon as it bounced off the wall.
