the bullpen has been terrible lately, but predicting a collapse every night is getting to be a bit much.
Kuo pitched a great two innings to finish it. First time the Dodgers did that to the Phillies since 1962, the year of the expansion Mets. So the Mets pick up a game on both the Marlins and Phillies. Good night for me as well, as I had the Dodgers -122 and the under 8.5 on centsports. 3-1 Dodgers win.
We are supermen. We can handle injuries and not give up. Hank take some notes. Oh and 3rdand15, how about Tatis? Care for some crow?
Why? Is he better then Endy Chavez? Sure, but he still shouldn't be a starting corner OFer on a team that wants to call itself a playoff contender.
He had a ridiculous July where he hit almost .400 and OPS'd 1.231. His numbers are going to look decent overall no matter what he does the rest of the way but he outside of that month he really hasn't done much before or since. He isn't really taking walks either(aside from last night) his decent OBP is a product of his high BA, not a good eye at the plate.
Yes, he hit .397 in July, yes he is hitting .244 in August. However, I just look at these number to see what he means to this team..... Men in Scoring Position: .357 Man on 3rd, less than 2 out: He's batting .500, not including SF's or groundouts or whatever, he getting the job done there, I'm sure he's tops on the team percentage wise. Close and late: .367/.486....He's been dominant here. Without him we'd be in trouble, you may not like him for many reasons, but you have got admit without him we'd be in a lot more trouble and we would NOT be in 1st place today.
Another amazing stat I just found about Tatis, After a 0-2 count, he is batting .327. David Wright who everyone says is great with an 0-2 count and I agree, is batting only .222.
