It was a baseball miracle that the bullpen held a 1 run lead for Santana. Maybe Santana gave a sacrifice to the baseball gods to reverse the curse that he has had this year.

dodgers beat the phils with 1 in the 8th and 1 in the 9th phillies once again proving how stupid the sac bunt is in the 9th. they had coste, who is actually having a decent year give the dodgers an out so that bruntlett and a pinch hitter could drive him in. bruntlett is terrible of course, and despite a lefty being on the mound they sent up geoff jenkins who hasn't gotten a hit off a lefty since 1998.
