Anyone want to give odds that the Mets win this game? 2-1 against? 3-1 against?

Smith benefits from Milledge not being too smart a hitter.

Well, we'll just wait until the bottom of the 9th to blow it.

Nieves helps Feliciano out on both strike 2 and strike 3.

this would be a totally different game if the nats had any plate discipline. i guess this is why they're the worst team in the league.

Santana strokes out from the shock of the Mets bullpen actually holding his lead.

    Texas 16, Boston 14.

It was a baseball miracle that the bullpen held a 1 run lead for Santana. Maybe Santana gave a sacrifice to the baseball gods to reverse the curse that he has had this year.

we needed this game bad, nice to see the bullpen pitch good.

    another good outing from santana.

maine coming back tomorrow, pedro pitch good yesturday, and wagner is coming back soon.

if we can just stay 1,2 games out, going into september, we can pull this out

dodgers beat the phils with 1 in the 8th and 1 in the 9th

phillies once again proving how stupid the sac bunt is in the 9th. they had coste, who is actually having a decent year give the dodgers an out so that bruntlett and a pinch hitter could drive him in. bruntlett is terrible of course, and despite a lefty being on the mound they sent up geoff jenkins who hasn't gotten a hit off a lefty since 1998.

I would say that was a premature statement.

El Metsos doing a good job so far. 4-0 in the top of the third, with Tatis having 2 RBI already.

Maine walks with the bases loaded to make it 5-0, and then Reyes hits the tailor-made DP ball that Guzman boots (they've inexplicably called it a hit so far). 7-0 Mets. Even the Mets bullpen better not blow this.

Two more walks and it's 8-0. Beltran doubles in two more. 10-0.

Does Manny Acta hate this pitcher or something? What the hell is he still doing in the game?
