Gonzalez with the 6th GS of his career, and the Mets go up 4-2!

Terrible missed called third strike and the Nats tie it at 5.

Mets complete the sweep in 12 innings! Cespedes with the game-winning broken bat hit and Gonzalez with the neat scoop at the end to clinch it.

I could get used to this kind of play.

Not a good night from Harvey. The Mets swept the Nats and are 7-1! :D

Mets came through for the money today. Placed a 4 team parlay at our local game room. Only placed a $20.00 ticket. Here's the catch 22; i Money-Lined all 4 underdogs in order to get 4 +'s and boost my little $20 ticket.

    Arizona Diamondbacks over STL ML.
Detroit Tigers over Chicago White Sox ML.
Memphis Grizz over Detroit Pistons ML.
New York Mets over Washington Nats ML.

    3 road underdogs & 1 home underdog.

$20 into $921. Not a bad day in the office.

    I hit a 2nd ticket tonight too. A 6 pick. $20 for $423.

No parlay is "easy" but this one was a much easier ticket to hit (3 favorites on a ML, one standard/regular (Jazz), one underdog but getting +2.5 (Arizona) & only 1 underdog to win (Mets).

    Houston Astros ML.
    Arizona Diamondbacks +2.5 (SRL).
    Chicago Cubs ML .
    L.A Dodgers ML.
    Utah Jazz -8.5.
    N.Y Mets ML.

$40 off of two tickets into $1,344.

That Mets game had me feeling sick. Was my last game. On both tickets. When they fell down 2-0 off Harper's HR i instantly felt worried. Then with two outs? 3 walks later? And Gonzalez smashes a Grand Slam. I was feeling pumped. 4-2 Mets. Nats score and make it 4-3 Mets. Mets score a run & go back up two runs @ 5-3 Mets. Then stayed at 5-5 in what felt like forever. That's when i was a nervous wreck. Up until Cespedes delivered with the RBI and eventually game winner.

I feel so lucky i hit that Mets gm. Washington out hit us & had runners on base all night. Bases loaded 1 out & Met pitching escaped. Then Harper with two base running mistakes but the last one, where the ball escaped to RF and Harper got confused never seen 3rd base coach waiving him to 3rd and stopped @ 2nd. Costly mistake.

    A night I'll remember.

A knock is that our starters have to start going a bit deeper. DeGrom up next. Doesn't pitch his best against the Marlins for some reason so hopefully he has a good outing.

PUT IT IN THE BOOKS! Love it. Big time game today. We need to win every time our two studs are on the mound.

Last fall the pundits were blathering how the team was built all wrong, that you don't build with pitching anymore. This year they lecture on how teams need deep pens because starters everywhere don't go long anymore.
The staff looks really deep, maybe as deep as any team in baseball. But the pundits are blathering about the depth of starts after a week and a half, playing in adverse conditions. I really wanted to hit Mark Malusis last night, dude is a fuckin asshole.

Wheels have fallen off for deGrom in the fifth. Bad call on a ball to third that is called fair when it was foul, a ground ball that is tipped away from Rosario by Frazier to become a single, and then an opposite field home run, and it goes from 3-0 up to 4-3 down.

Justin Bour killing the Mets with two opposite field two-run homers. 6-4 Marlins.

Cespedes 0/8 with 6 Ks in the series - until he doubles in two in the top of the ninth! Mets up 8-6.

Starters still disappoint, but Mets are 9-1 for the first time in their history thanks to the hitters and the bullpen!

Callaway is only the third manager in major league history to win 9 of his first 10 games.
