The best thing that can happen is the complete opposite. Hopefully moving in the walls will give Bay 5-6 more HR's than last year, and he can get some trade value to an AL team. Getting rid of his contract would be great for next year.

Well the Wilpons vow to own the team until they die or all their fans have stress related heart attacks. Which ever come first!

My 8-year-old daughter has decided she's going to be Mets fan because they rhyme with the Jets. I'm just going to see how this plays out, better than being Yankee fan (like my wife) which I was afraid of. I'd never considered the Mets, she must have gotten that from school because we don't talk baseball around the house.

Yeah, this was her decision, not mine. I made the same decision at 8 and changed teams at 10--trading Kingman and Seaver on the same day did me in. We'll see what happens.

Anyone see this hilarious Tim Kurkhjian impression? It's spot on.

It's J.P. Arencibia of the Blue Jays

Davis will be trade bait this year as the brains trust, and I use that lightly, see Duda as the 1st basemani if you read some of the comments made.that will allow them to keep Wright and Murphy plus Duda as their 1/2/3b which would be a good offense bu poor defense..moneyball anyone

Actually in all seriousness this would not be the worst move IF we got a good player in trade as Duda would fit into 1b easily .

Tim Byrdak rolled a 279 in a team bowling tournament today (he rolled a 238 in another game). Maybe the Mets can lobby to have playoff spots determined that way?

Probably because of his ankle not being right ever again. Only the Mets could ruin such a promising player. Now they are saying he has valley fever.
The article is not very definitive on his prognosis:

“Ike Davis underwent a routine physical exam after his arrival in PSL. The exam included an abnormal chest X-ray. Following additional tests here and in NYC, pulmonary and infectious disease specialists have concluded that Ike likely has Valley Fever, which is expected to resolve itself over time. Ike is not contagious, is not taking any medication for his condition and does not currently exhibit any of the outward symptoms associated with Valley Fever. However, Ike has been instructed to avoid extreme fatigue. No additional tests or examinations are pending, but Ike will have a follow up exam when the team returns to NYC in early April.”

I just do not trust any of their medical staff. Last year they said he twisted his ankle and he was gone for 5 months. Anywhere else Ike would have been back in two weeks. If i was Ike I would get my own doctors to look at it! My guess is they want to get Duda more PT at first base. If so, this is a nice quiet way of doing it!

lol... we could only dream. Of course the Mets would roll out some POS like Armando Benitez, Guillermo Mota or KRoad to bowl the 10th frame and get nothing but gutter balls.

This doesn't sound good for the Wilpons. The burden will not be on trustee Irving Picard to prove the Wilpons were "willfully blind" to the Ponzi scheme. The Wilpons are the ones who bear the burden of proof.

Mets' owners have to prove goodwill.

Currently on remote tropical island of Boracay in the Philippines... just watched the most beautiful sunset as I jogged along the beach. Now I've Cold beer in my hand, Mets spring training on TV.... the season can only go downhill from here.
