I may not be here for one, if not both of my next 7th rounders, so I sent a PM to Warhound7 and WW85.

3 great small school sleepers you have there.

Overall, this might be the best draft of any team. I love how well Brian Leonard fits in Green Bay. That's where he'll be going in my next mock draft.

Adam Carricker is similar to Aaron Kampman in a few ways...

Jonathan Wade has tremendous potential and could be a steal.

Kolby Smith is easily one of the Top 10 steals of the draft.

    6' 2"/238 and running 4.4's and 4.3's? :eek:hmy:

I'll take a shot with the third to last pick in the draft, Michael Turner is rumored to be back on the trading block and he won't hang past this year regardless, so why not take a shot on this kid for the role of LT's backup

I know you selected Lynch in Rd 1, but Darby was too good to pass-up. The Bills can use some depth at RB, plus Darby should be a good special team player. I'm glad you liked the pick!!

    Dolphins and Bengals Draft Review

    Miami Dolphins
1-009. Levi Brown, OT, Penn St.
    Grade: A
Explanation:The 'Fins have a lot of needs, QB included. A major issue last year with their offense was their inability to get rid of the ball and open running lanes. Both of these things can be directly linked to their offensive line. Brown provides a breath of fresh air for this offense and should make an immediate impact. If Culpepper can remain unharmed, then they may have a shot at going somewhere.
    2-040. Brandon Meriweather, S, Miami
    Grade: A-
Explanation: The secondary in Miami was weak last year. The addition of former Giant Will Allen was a nice addition but they made that move and in turn let go of Sam Madison. Their secondary hasnt been the same since. Meriweather was a great presence in Miami and becomes an instant hometown hero.
    2-060. Justin Durant, LB, Hampton
    Grade: B+
Explanation: Zach Thomas is getting old and he's the meat and potatoes of their LB corps. Durant can become an instant sack machine for this defense. I give him a B+ because I feel that the LB situation should have been handled on the second day and here they should have gone with another offensive lineman. After all, the Jets took two lineman in one round and made a huge turn around. I wasn't responsible for this pick, but it isn't a bad addition.
3-071. Aundrae Allison, WR, East Carolina
    Grade: B-
Explanation: I don't know what was going through Mac's head when he went with Aundrae here. The 'Fins don't need a WR. They have a good corps of WRs that can really control the field and allow the vertical game to develop. I would've gone TE here instead which is a larger needs than WR.
    4-104. Brian Robison, DE/OLB Texas
    Grade: B+
Explanation: He was the BPA for the 4th Round and for this position and addresses an important need. Instead of dealing with LB earlier with Durant I would've just gone for Robison here. He's a big presence on the field and had a great pro day workout. I think he's going to be a Bryan Thomas-esque player that when presented with the right situation will flourish.
    6-166. Chris Leak, QB, Florida
    Grade: B+
Explanation: People in Florida live and die by their college sports. Especially when they're champions. Leak is a little shorter than I'd like for a QB but they need a solid backup and this guy throws the best ball I've seen in a while. He's a born leader and he overcame the adversity of being nearly replaced at his position and fought back to regain his starting spot. I think he can overcome his height to be a SOLID backup at the next level -- which is exactly what they need in Miami.
    6-183. Corey Anderson, FB, Tennessee
    Grade: A-
Explanation: I wanted McClain here and I'm still bitter about that but Anderson is a great FB as well. If you don't count Leonard, this guy is the second best FB in the draft. By losing Darian Barnes to the Jets in free agency, they created a major hole that needs to be addressed and Anderson fits the bill. I think Miami would get a great value for a 6th RD pick.
    7-200. Gary Russell, RB, Minnesota
    Grade: B-
Explanation: Yes, WW85 said he looked horrible when they ran into each other and that he was out of shape. But these guys are athletes and I have faith that he can get back into playing shape. If he can't... then we've got a bust or another FB on our hands. Either way its a 7th RD pick.
    7-219. Matt Herian, TE, Nebraska
    Grade: B
Explanation: He broke his leg in his Jr. year and didnt play until his senior year. His senior year he didn't produce nearly as many numbers as his soph and fresh year of college but he still produced. I think he needs to get his mind back in the game and have faith that his body will hold up and this 6'6 TE can make an impact. If he does, this guy will need to bulk up otherwise he's going to be a tweener with slot/fb/goal line-short yardage hb.

    Overall: B+
Explanation: Poor picks in the early rounds lead to this. If they would've gone for a second offensive lineman in the second round they could've scored someone like Beekman and then have Brown and Beekman on the same line. I think TE shouldve been addressed earlier and that the Fins really shouldve made a larger splash in the off season in order to make an impact for the 07-08 season.

    Cincinnati Bengals
    1-018. Chris Houston, CB, Arkansas
    Grade: A+
Explanation: Their secondary is weak and Houston is a good character to add to a team of deliquents and convicts. We all know the Bengal offense is solid and that their defense really lacks any "name brand" players that aren't hardened criminals.
    2-049. Zach Miller, TE, Arizona
    Grade: A+
Explanation: The weakspot of their brutal offense is a solid TE to provide a redzone threat for Palmer. Miller is arguably the better blocking TE while Olsen is the best recieving TE. I think Miller will provide the threat necessary to completing this offense.
4-110. Mkristo Bruce, DE, Wash St.
    Grade: B+
Explanation: A solid need for a good value. I took Robison off the board right before Bruce but Mkristo (who has a pretty cool name) is just the help they're looking for. The defensive line in Miami is nearing geriatric status and needs a young gun to come off the end
    5-141. Jordan Palmer, QB, UTEP
    Grade: B+
Explanation: He was probably the best of the "other" QBs still left on the board at the time when I took him. I didn't think I'd have a shot at him if I had addressed safety at this spot. Carson does want the Bengals to draft his brother and I think by pairing them up, Jordan will just gain all of his brothers knowledge. He's the lesser of the brothers but he's got all of the physical attributes his brother has... he just needs the know-how to execute. At worst, he becomes a Schaub of the Bengals and becomes trade foder. At best, he's the heir apparant to his brother and a solid insurance policy if anything happens.
    6-172. Tony Franklin, S, Virginia
    Grade: B-
Explanation: He was the BPA for his position at this point. I think he can provide solid depth at safety. If the Bengals had a third round pick, I would have addressed this sooner and gotten a better valued player for a necessary position.
7-211. Germaine Race, RB, Pittsburg St.
    Grade: B
Explanation: This kid came very close to owning all of Shay's Division II records. Now I know Shay is right now just a backup on KC and dominant in NFL Europa... but its worth a shot. I think he can be a solid third string and a great special teams contributor.

    Overall: B+
Explanation: For this draft when I took over my intention was to draft based on need but also based on character. The Bengals need to get over this stigma as being a team of thugs, convicts and criminals and get back to playing the game of football. Each of these players are of good character and good talent and can place the Bengals on the right path.

I couldn't wait any longer to complete this draft for the "mr irrelevant pick" so I made it myself. As a proud Hofstra alum, I think Smith is a smart pick. But its the last pick in the draft and the 7th round... so hey, why not?

no, you shouldnt have made the pick. It is the last pick, and Wolfe Tone said he had something he really wanted to do with this pick. Just erase that pick. I think we can wait, considering no one else has to pick after Wolfe. He sounded pretty happy with the guy he wanted to get, so let him have his Mr. Irrelevant.
