Ive heard this the last 3 years and we havent been able to find a high level running back. This guy has the talent level of a Jamaal Charles or Lesean McCoy. Charles could be league MVP if not for Peyton Manning- he's had that much of an impact on his team. Fact is, we need playmakers on offense. It doesnt matter what position, because we have a need at all of them. If Evans, Watkins, Ebron and even Lee are gone, Gordon is clearly the next BPA (and Id argue that Gordon is a lot more talented than Ebron and slighly more than Lee at there respective positions). Powell is just a guy, Goodson tore his ACL and could very well be in jail, and Ivory has been okay so far, but he has a track record of being very injury prone, and leaves something to be desired in the passing game. He'll also be 26 heading into next season Who knows if he will be a first round pick. Who even knows if he will enter the draft at this point. He could be a 2nd round pick. The fact remains though, that Gordon is a hell of a player, and I would gladly welcome his talent onto this talent-starved offense. I do agree that there are other positions of higher need, specifically WR. But the big two could be gone by the time we pick and Gordon could be BPA. He also very well could be a 2nd round pick given the outlook of the RB position, and there he would be a no-brainer.
You don't draft a RB in the first round. Tell me what rounds Shady and Charles were drafted there is no Adrian Peterson type RB in the draft. Watkins, Evans and the TE from UNC may not be available but Jordan Matthews and the TE from Washington will be. I believe we will have a solid option available. I also believe Ivory can be a good option going forward
