Decent pick. I'd be on board for any of the top tackles or guards. Moore did not provide any push last year, and Slauson performed only slightly better. The running game was terrible last year, and I would have no problem trying to fix it with the first pick, no matter how unsexy it is. TBH Upshaw and Ingram don't have that high of a ceiling. I would much rather have Perry over both of them. For the record, I think Ingram will be better than Upshaw.

I don't like the idea of taking a Guard with the 16th pick. I'd much rather have Upshaw or Ingram.

If we did take a Guard, I'd rather have DeCastro than Glenn.

So can Wayne Hunter, doesn't mean he's any good at it. Glenn is probably a G in the NFL that can fill in at T in a pinch.

Well if we draft him we can save 3 million by cutting Moore

I'd like him if we could trade down. I don't want him at 16.

I agree because if we dont draft an OLB in the first, imo we gotta draft at least 2.

in the 2nd + elswhere in that middle range

Id be escatic if we could get

Glenn, Curry, + another OLB/SAFETY in the first 3 rounds

The majority here are seeing this pick as him being a Guard. My point is, it that I think he would be an upgrade over Hunter and I see this pick more as RT rather than G.

Glenn showed at the Senior Bowl that he does have the athleticism and feet to play RT in the league. He shut down Upshaw on multiple occasions during the game and practice. He also won the majority of battles against Ingram.

Personally, I would rather have Mike Adams be the pick, but depending on how the board fell, I would be okay with this pick.

I think most are underrating his ability to play RT.

I think Wilson in the first was a Rex has the hots for CB's pick.

Yeah, the Revis holdout was looming but taking a CB on that pick was not what the Jets really needed. It was an over-reaction to getting beat by Peyton Manning in the AFC championship game.

I'd be shocked if Moore is cut. I disagree with those dissing Moore's play last season.

I'm no expert, but I saw GA play a lot last season and a few times this year. He has never stood out as being a great OL. I recently looked at some YouTube clips of his play this year, and not once did he dominate the player he was blocking. He often was struggling to make the block. On another Jets' site where I post, we have an OL who posts pretty regularly. I think he is playing college ball now, or did and is now playing semi-pro and he critiqued Glenn then I looked at the clips again and agreed with him. Here's what he said:

Here's a good one of Glenn, showing both the positives and negatives of him at guard.

Aagin, you and your friend are the only one's I've seen call him a finesse blocker. He calls his technique sound which is a bit over simplifying. In pass protection its very good, and its often very poor in run blocking. He really needs worked up in run blocking to be sucessful at the next level.

In the video, you can see he shows power at times, moves his man well. The Auburn game highlights his nibleness for his size on several pulling and trapping plays.

The tape also shows when he gets too high it looks ugly. He sildes off blockers and gets pushed back. The coaches and scouts job here is to see if he is teachable. The kid has all the physical talent your looking for in a guard. That said he's no DeCastro, who while a bit smaller is ready to step in at a very high level.

IMO, there is zero chance Moore is cut especially after all the locker room shit.

If we draft a guard in RD 1, why not DeCastro who may be there @ 16?

Because he's not gonna be there at 16. If the choice is between Glenn and DeCastro, Decastro is a no brainer.

Slausson will be full speed by June OTA's. I don;t know why people keep assuming he's going to miss any time.

If this is the idea then it should only be done if decastro is on the board

The guy's not my friend, just another poster on that site.

Good clip. Wish there were more like that on prospects. He does look good on some plays and bad on others, both in run and pass blocking. The bottom line is that traditionally you just don't use a first round pick on an OG or C. I don't think one needs a lot of top draft picks to develop an excellent OL. Good OL can be found in every round and as UDFAs. I do agree that the Jets probably need to take an OG in this year's draft not only in case that Schlauderaf or any other young developmental kid they've signed doesn't develop, but largely because they have switched from a zone blocking scheme to a man blocking scheme. I'm not convinced that Turner will be a good fit any more. One FA OL whose flexibility I like is Geoff Schwartz. He has played both RT and RG. He shouldn't be that expensive. If the Jets could add him and another OL who can play both OG and C, I'd feel a lot happier with the depth.

Anyway, back to Glenn. He does have potential, but I think he's a bit of a project, and there shouldn't be any projects taken in the first or second rounds.

I'd rather trade down or take a WR, or even a RT than an OG.
