Mel Kiper, in my mind, makes stupid predictions early so people start talking about the draft and he gets his stuff read more. Then, the closer it gets to the draft, the better he becomes.
He was mostly right about Young, Cutler, and Leinart last year. As Leinart's stock fell he still talked him up every week.

Mel lost all respect w/ me when he called mike williams just as good and fast as Braylon edwards and when he said Mike Clayton would be the first pick of the 2005 draft if he had stayed in school. He always loves these small receivers w/ great speed i.e.: Roscoe Parrish, Jerome Mathis etc
