book it I wanted an OT hard at 4 …. I didn’t trust Becton one bit after missing a whole year … this will be two years now…what a bad blow…he was pretty good when playing I’d be feeling much better with Iky or Neal and Fant on OL and Reed and Hall at CB than I do with Fant and whomever we can get at OT and Sauce and Reed at corner
Not surprised by this, but a bummer nonetheless. Guess we know what position we'll be looking at early in the next draft.
Are there any tackles that are young/disgruntled that we could trade a 1st for. Seems crazy but it's locked and loaded we are drafting tackle next year in the 1st, could be an early pick but willing to go there if possible.
I am with you, the Becton vs Wirfs is what it is. But this year was different, the entire organization new his injury history and drafted Sauce at 4 instead of a tackle. Ik was sitting right there for us
Yes but was he a better pick than sauce. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nf...t-rounder-ikem-ekwonu-long-way-to-go-panthers
I'm a free speech kind of guy, but can we have a moratorium on the Wirfs whining? Like maybe another half hour, and then at midnight we close the door?
Becton was like a freak of nature and moving trucks with his body...Probably led to his legs giving up on him
You want to reflect on Wirfs being passed fine, but no one at this stage should be feeling gloomy about Sauce. That kid has all-pro potential and can represent what it is to be a Jet as a elite playmaker. I think we all know JD has one major job right now to work on and that is Tackle
While the whining is still allowed, I'm just gonna say that this pretty much cements the 2020 draft grade as an F.
Enough already. Sauce is an absolute stud and great pick. Sorry about Becton, bad, bad luck for the kid.
In no way am I looking back to draft night and complaining. It has the potential to be a historic night for us and nothing Sauce, Garrett, or Jermaine has done thus far has changed that opinion. No question we were thin at tackle and the hope that Becton/Fant could stay healthy has already bitten us - but it's time to move on (this team just can't stay healthy!). JD knew this was a position of need...first Reiff was brought in and then Brown. I have my fingers crossed we sign him but there are some others who could fit...I believe Daryl Williams (30), Eric Fisher (31), and Bobbie Massie (33) are still available and all at RT's. That said, perhaps JD looks to swing a deal. We have terrific depth at WR and it's clear Mims is no better than 5th at the moment. By all accounts he's worked his tail off, and the coaching staff seems really pleased with him, but how about sending him to Chicago for Teven Jenkins? Two guys from the 2nd round of the 2021 draft who clearly need a fresh start somewhere else. Chicago's depth at WR is abysmal and Mims would have a legit shot at significant playing time. Same here for Jenkins.
