I find it funny that everyone wants a wideout that has had knee operations last year that got released by a team that had no one to play wide receiver. But only a few people want one of the best Qb's of all time becasue he had 4 neck operations, that is the only excuse people say.

Lets look at the numbers, if Manning is healthy he no doubt makes the need of a RT less, the need for top of the line wideouts less and the need for a top running back even lesser. Mark needs everything around him to be near perfect to win, Manning is the exact opposite of this. Sorry it really isnt even a contest, then people want to say well Mark got to two straight AFCCG's, with a healthy Manning, Brady, Brees etc...the Jets would have been in the superbowl.....

Yeah, he works as a beat writer in the sports section. There aren't exactly a ton of opportunities for him to impose his liberal politics on us.

That is exactly what people said about PFT when it started. Not the same, but worth noting.

Well, LT has turned into a real asshole. This shit he's saying about following Manning to New York is ridiculous. He is already in ESPN douchebag form.

Fair. But I still don't like to hear his own teammates talking about how they'd rather play with PM, with the focus on team unity now. Mehta's annonymous sources only add fuel to that fire.

I agree though he isn't NFL material if he can't take the criticism.

    Jake,

In some ways several teammates might be jealous of Mark, he has this pretty boy hollywood image despite not winning anything....Lets be honest with a healthy Manning this team is light years ahead of were they would be with Mark at the helm.

No disputing the latter point. Peyton Manning is the best QB I've ever seen play football. However, I question whether we'd be getting that Quarterback, just like we didn't get the Brett Favre we thought we were getting. With that experiment fresh in my mind, I'm hoping we stick with Sanchez who I think will get better.

As for the first bit, well, it's hard to say because it seems like half the team is in his corner and Mehta's annonymous sources are in the other. Sanchez has that image for sure, but it's not like he doesn't give a fuck. He's putting in work, ask ole Chad Pennington.

    Jake,

That is why I always say a healthy Manning, if he is healthy then to me it is a no brainer.

Yes, he is putting in the work, my problem with Mark is that he needs everything to be perfect it seems like to win, without a great run game, top D and good to great O line he doesnt elevate the team like Brady, Rodgers, Brees etc....

Yeah, why would 4 neck operations be anything to worry about?............

Why wouldn't the Jets players want the best QB who ever played the game on their team if he is healthy which apparently he is?

So please tell me then why you think that Mark is a better option at Qb then a healthy Manning?

I think it was jonnyd that said it a while ago as a joke, but I fully agree with him. 99% of the reports say that Sanchez has been as hardworking as they come since he's come into the league. If true, then it sure seems like his upside is looking more and more limited. I wish they were saying he was lazy all this time and now is starting to work hard.

He got better with a worse team. That's considering the turnover riddled final three games in which he was injured.

I don't think he got better at all. His stats took a small step forward because we passed so much more than we did in the previous two years (and because Plax really opened things up in the red zone,) but his overall level of play stagnated at best, regressed at worst.

This ain't the 50's, you can easily call/e-mail someone.

Then it wouldn't exactly be anonymous, it'd be an open revolt lol.

I can name a better QB in a similar situation, Joe Montana in 1993 with KC. And prior to that they made the playoffs in 90 through 92.

You don't have to remain anonymous. One of the great thing about this country is that nobody will force you to say anything if you don't want to. All you have to do is refuse to speculate about talking about any player who isn't already on your team. It's a simple policy to take if your an NFL player.

Nonsense. Mehta is causing a headache w/ this "anonymous source" crap but his articles are usually much more informative than the drivel Cimini puts out there. Mehta drops some stinkers but Cimini has a career of stinkers.
