Ray Ray Rice Damn You Jets!!! The Jets Must Get Ray Ray In The 2nd Round!!!ray Must Be Kept In The Ny/nj Area!!! 4.44 Go Ray Ray!!!!
I think I like Mendenhall and Stewart more. Ball control through the running game is a significant thing, and McFadden's fumbling problems and yes...the thin lower body scare me. Plus, I think both of those guys have better hands, and more durable body types. At first I didn't agree with Mayock about McFadden getting dead leg after initial contact, but after watching him some more it's not wrong at all. Arkansas really had a dominant O-line/blocking scheme and they basically allowed McFadden to run untouched so he can use his ridiculous speed to just blow by guys. Theres ALOT of positives about the guy obviously, because he's still an excellent RB prospect. I think he'd work very well in a counter run blocking scheme like San Diego's where he could turn the corner and use his speed. He's a home run hitter, but I'm more a fan of using the running game to control the clock and opening up the passing game.
I like Mcfadden. And I think people aren't giving him respect as a runningback. He didn't just bounce out side everytime he got the ball or just run full steam ahead threw great blocking. He sets up a lot of his blocks and reads the field very good. I think he would be great for the Jets too. We need to face facts that Jones lining up 7 yards deep isn't working for us. Mcfadden though is a guy that can break a play from a draw or a delay hand off. Jones needs a fullback and a Big I formations to be effective. The Jets don't like using the I inbetween of the 10 Yard lines though. Mcfadden on the other hand spent alot of time in that "Wild Hog" foramtion and would be very comfortable in shotguns, single back multiple reciver sets and the biggest plus for him............. splitback-formations with Leon Washington on the field. The biggest reason we might need to look at Jones is the No huddle the Jets use, Jones seems to hate the check down running plays. While a Talent like Mcfadden would probably love it. And seems to me that this team wants to be like the Pats/Colts with QBs calling plays at the line, switching formations and checking down into plays. So why not get a freak who can make plays out of these formations, run threw his blocking diaolgly and attack the edges. When was the last time the Jets had a back that attack the edges??? It would be nice to a sweep or a toss once in a while in the redzone when the D is all packed in the middle eh???
so, aside from the debate about who is better, who we need and why, what about the workout itself? Does this send DMC's stock up again? Early in the process we thought that getting him at 6 would be hard, then Sedrick Ellis started making noise, McFadden's character was called into question and he dropped a tad, to the point that #6 seemed a reasonable spot. Does his value rise abck up to the #3-5 zone now that he had such a great workout?
no freaking way Ray rice is around in the 3rd round. DMC, Mendenhall and Stwart willl go round 1. Maybe Jammal Charles will go before him in the 2nd but Ray will be the next back taken in the 2nd round. I would of said Felix Jones may have gone before both but he stunk it up at the combine.
