Thank god we selected another DE we needed one so bad! Another brilliant move by the guy who is 21-48 as Gm about to be 21-49
Your definately related to someone on the Jets Staff or the Woody's, just attacking people who speak out against the Tyrant's. If you don't like what people have to say, find another message board or skip over to the next post.
Don't have the snap count, but Huff looked to have played more and made a huge difference. Was double teamed on multiple occasions. Was held a lot too. He needs to be playing almost every down. The guy is on similar level as the top pass rushers in the League and needs to play. He is good now against the run too. Also, it really helped that Al Woods was inactive. At this point of his career he can't move, just eats up space against the run in the league that is much more passing oriented. Got the snap count. Better, but not enough. Need to see more of Huff still. Do we really need Lawson to play? Or take some ED snaps for Clemons/JJ. You gotta get Huff even more. It really changes the game. John Franklin-Myers: 40 snaps Jermaine Johnson: 34 snaps Bryce Huff: 27 snaps Micheal Clemons: 25 snaps Carl Lawson: 14 snaps Will McDonald: 12 snaps
grain of salt etc but heard the announcers say that whenever mcdonald was on mahomes was audibling to a run play
Bart and Willie made a post game comment that they saw why McDonald hadn’t been getting playing time thus far, vaguely stating that the mental game isn’t there yet.
Noticed one play they ran right around his edge, not good. Still, he is much quicker than Lawson and co. Pair him with Woods.
That's pretty damning considering he plays one of the least complex positions in a defensive scheme that you could play in the NFL. Think the coaching staff needs to treat him like Abraham was treated and bring him along much more situationally as a rookie. Abe had 4.5 sacks and 2 FF in his first 6 NFL games before getting hurt and he pretty much only came in on obvious pass rushing downs/ situational pass rusher to use his elite speed and get after the QB. Recall even in his 2nd season (pro bowl season) Abe was still somewhat a liability against the run and setting the edge-- it took time for him to develop that technique and strenght. I am guessing that is why McD is not seeing the field.
Clothes-lined is right... I called it a choke hold. I saw it happen live and when the refs threw two flags on that play I was sure one was for that hold. I'll get a better picture put up later... that was taken off my outdoor TV and it's sunny here.
JJ really stepped up in the last two games - after I wrote this, kudos to him. Hope he can keep this up. Huff is also playing more, and I think needs to play even more than he does, but I am happy snaps increased each game. Overall, right now, I am quite pleased with both their production.
