McCareins for Duckett deal?

Discussion in 'New York Jets' started by greenlantern, Aug 19, 2006.

  1. A scheme that pulls alot, and a zone scheme are 2 different things.

I understand that. But previously someone said Duckett didn't fit Atlanta's system as the reason he hasn't been a great player yet. That may be true, but I was trying to point out that we also do not have a power running game. That's what I believe most think Duckett is best suited for. Like the zone blocking scheme, we are likely to be running to the perimeter. Not Duckett's strength....

I would say do it also but i'm curious. I know that 90% of this board just piles on McCareins for the heck of it and I know that the guys been scapegoated for no freakin reason. But that being said, if they made this deal, they are trading one of their best two WR's (don't give me this Cotchery nonsense, he isn't as good as Mccareins) at a positon they are extremely weak at.

That's a tough call but I'd guess I'd have to take Duckett. The guys a proven runner. And we could use a power runner.

Cotchery is a better receiver than McCareins and he has a ton more upside potential.

When McCareins was with a strong armed QB in Tennessee he had ONE patented play which was the inside juke and burning it outside down the sidelines running under a 45 yard pass. The NFL catches up to that really quickly which is why the Titans traded him.

Since he's been a Jet he's basically been a mediocre possession receiver with iffy hands.

dude, even if he is the second best receiver(which he isnt)...the 2nd best in a pile of shit, is a pretty smelly pile of shit.....I still dont believe atlants would give us duckett for jmac. but if its true, I'd carry jmac on my back to atlanta for duckett's mother, let alone for duckett

How do you not do this deal, or something similar.

#28Martin, I'm telling you, Cotchery is good. I've seen him in camp a handful of times this year, and I can go on and on about how good he's looked, and I can also go on and on about how unimpressive Justin has looked.

Trading JM and eating 4 Mill on the cap is difficult to swallow, but Tanny may have no choice. IMO, JM isn't in Tangini's plans.............Coles, Cotch, Dwight, Smith and Newhouse(I want him to make the team) would be the 5 wrs that make the final cut. All 5 have out played Justin!!!
