That must be the only quarter of Jets football you've watched in the last several years. Delete that quarter from your memory and now tell me what you think of McCareins.

Thank you. Crisp is definitely the word. Sharp would even do in a pinch. Either way Jmac is neither of those things when it comes to running his routes. What I will give him credit for in watching him is he does find the soft spots/seams in zone coverage.

    (1) Sub-50% completions don't translate into inaccuracy when you factor in drops, and he's had plenty of them since he started.

    (2) I've been watching this guy since the day he walked out onto the field at TC, so my perception goes back a bit further than your "last two games." I'm telling you he has what it takes and legitimately, we're looking at our next franchise QB for some years to come. This kid is the real deal.

I did not imply that he couldn't be a franchise QB. However, when it has counted (i.e. during real NFL games against opposing teams trying to win, not 7-on-7) he has not shown a penchant for being the most accurate passer.

I specifically mentioned that I didn't base my opinion on the sub-50% number (see the part you didn't bold). But, I don't think if you exclude all the drops he gets above 60% (which is where he needs to be).

As he gets more comfortable in the offense and with WRs, I expect him to progress. However, calling him an accurate in-game passer right now would be...well...inaccurate.
