Bottom line... Mawae was asked to take a pay cut or restructure, and he said no. He followed it up by goingto the media with his agent in tow. When he says it's not about the money, I scream bullshit. We could have got the 1.5 million cap savings out of his salary, so he'd make 1 million this coming season, and he would retire a Jet. At 35, he's not going to get much more than 1 million a year with a small signing bonus. He thinks he can, so he's prepared to walk. Not about the money, lol! With that said. I loved Mawae as a player and as a Jet. I was thrilled to have him with us, and am sad to see him go. However, don't get up on a soapbox and blame this on the Jets FO, just because you were unwilling to do what Martin did, not to mention what Chad's about to do. You're entire future is SET from what this organization paid you. You're such a team player that you wouldn't take one for the team. Whatever.
