Lol. As if he was still on the team he'd have a choice in the matter but to go out and play for him. You played for Groh Kevin, you'll play for anybody.
He did as do most Centers but he was GREAT for us and we shouldn't forget that. He's entitled to his opinion, he doesn't play for us anymore so who cares if he could play for rex or not?
Come on man, you have no right to pick and choose what coach you'd play for when not a single coach in the NFL wanted you this season.
32 teams said they wouldn't want Mawae as a player. Kevin Mawae was a great center, but he's the last motherfucker that needs to criticize someone else for opening their mouths. Locker room lawyer. Edit: However, this strikes as Kevin Mawae trying be heard since he's latching onto the one team that is an instant sound bite for 2010.
I like Mawae. But at this point, he does not have to worry about ever playing for Rex. Mawae is ultra religious from what I remember so perhaps he does not agree with how Rex lives his life. Brunell is as well but seems less judgemental and actually said he likes Rex.
That is frustrating to watch. Man they miss that push up the middle. I hope the Jets address NT in the offseason.
Mawae was a NFL Union rep... meaning he's a locker room troublemaker... the last thing these player reps want are coaches who the rest of the players fall in line to play for...
He got unceremoniously dumped cause of his mouth. Specifically cause he called out the very guy he lined up to try and protect on every fucking snap. You jackass. You don't call out Chad P (whether what you said was the truth or not) and not expect any backlash. "why don't you come back when you got the REAL thing on your arm, and I'll squeeze that shit on good and tight" -George Carlin
I never heard that either. I thought it was a money move combined with the opportunity to get younger with Mangold
I think a lot of people assume that it was Mawae with the 'He's like an egg back there' anonymous quote.
