Funny to hear different views on how that game was won. I always give the heaviest credit to SB3 to Mr. Winston Hill. It seemed like every good run was off left tackle, and Joe Willy had no pressure from the blind side at all. The defense was also excellent.
The Jets are planning to induct Snell and Emerson Boozer into the Ring of Honor. http://www.newyorkjets.com/news/art...of-Honor/26be0c7a-c998-4420-9bc3-314392387305 I assume that he accepted.
Wow what a tragedy if true since for sure, sure he is one of the hero's of SB3 & should be honored for his accomplishments in that game
You said he should be honored and the Jets obviously agree. If he's too bitter and twisted about everything that's gone done with the Jets since '69 to attend the ceremony, that's nobody's problem but his. And certain other fossils that are too bitter and twisted about everything that's gone down with the Jets since '69 to enjoy anything about them.
So again I asked U the magic question which up to now U have refused to answer which is give 5 good things that you enjoy about the NYJs
Ha. You most emphatically did NOT ask me this mythical magic question, even once, let alone again, but I understand you are elderly and I'm told the memory often is first to go. So I'm going to answer you anyway: Five things I enjoy about the NYJs: 1. They are my favorite team and I feel good rooting for them. 2. My dad got me into them when I was a kid and I am reminded about him when I think about the NYJs. 3. I grew up on LI when they were kind of the hometown team. 4. My high school football team had the same color scheme as the NYJs and unfortunately often the same talent level. 5. The natural geographical equivalent to rooting for the NYJs is rooting for the NYGs. Not even you are boring enough to be able to handle that.
This should be an awkward moment in Jets history. They're going to honor him, and he won't be there to accept: http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/je...ies-30-year-grudge-vows-to-skip-ring-ceremony
What gets me about this is that . . . "Snell lives only 10 miles from the stadium," and "[T]he organization has been trying for weeks -- no, months -- to contact him, to find out if one of their Super Bowl III heroes will attend," and Cimini can just send someone over there (or go over there - not sure which), and speak with him face to face? No matter what this is about, or for whatever period of time, it seems that if the Jets really wanted to make amends, they could've done a better job of it. Then again, these are my beloved Jets. They can even make a mess out of honoring someone.
In many ways he was forgotten and ignored by the organization. Both the Jets and Matt should find a way to mend the problems.
