with his insane ego does anybody really think he would be ok with backing up his former backup in the pros? I think not... although he could party hard and live up the night life in NY better than in zona..
Would you agree that both Mark Brunell/Kellen Clemens are terrible than Matt Leinart? Did you see the way Matt played in the preseason. Let alone did you watched his last game. Now I'm not saying start the fucker but I believe he would be a solid back up for Mark Sanchez. Leinart is young, groomed behind warner, and he could be our long term 2nd string QB for REX down the line. Brunell is a one year rental. And Kellen as a solid number 2 come on. lets get real. Matt reminds me of Chad Pennington. Him and Sanchez would get along well.
It's a very bad idea to bring in a disgruntled QB who thinks he should be a starter behind a 2nd year QB who is having a hard time getting his feet under him. Looking over his shoulder while the back-up potentially splits the lockerroom... Bad idea
You really want to bring Leinart here?? Bad move. Something about him just seems like he doesn't have good team chemistry. Plus all Rex needs is more Sanchez to have one bad game and Leinhart start bitching that he's better than him and demands a start.
I figured you guys would enjoy this article.... http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Apk9671Zzvc11CH_N.fCealDubYF?slug=jc-leinhartcut090410
What kind of logic is this? He'll get along with Sanchez because hes similar to Pennington, is that what you're implying? First of all Leinart wants to actually start and theres no way in hell he decides to backup Sanchez, secondly I would take Clemens over Leinart in a heartbeat. Clemens knows the system and the playbook and is just a class act altogether. Not to mention hes much cheaper then Leinart would be. I realize Clemens is overall a pretty lousy QB but even if we do sign Leinart and Sanchez does go down, the season is done. It really doesn't matter who is in there whether it would be Leinart, Sanchez, or Brunell so theres really no point to wasting time picking of this clown with the huge ego considering he would have no chemistry with this offense and he would bitch and complain if he didn't get a chance to start.
I wasn't implying that Leinart would get along with Sanchez because he is like pennington..ha come on dude. I should of worded it better. Leinart and Sanchez was on the same squad back at SC, they can reminisce about the good ol' days....and Leinart reminds mean of pennington: weak arm, accurate...but after reading the article above looks to me as if he lacked leadership in Zona...but one can easily understand why, he never lived up to his hype and spiraled into melancholy.
